Jordans Grand National Odds 2026: 7-y-o has a chance

Seven-year-old Jordans is listed in the top 10 of the betting for the headline race of the 2026 Aintree Festival despite not having won a race in nearly two years and only once finishing in the top four in his past six.
Seems a bit odd to me but we’ll try to get to the bottom of why punters still like him as we look at his profile in the latest in our series for all 34 entries of the race and check out his latest Grand National Odds…

Jordans:
With only one victory since relocating from France to Ireland back in the summer of 2024, the fact he’s even in the race feels a bit surprising.
As one of the top chances last time out in a listed Class 1 at Leopardstown, he showed very little as he trudged home 11th out of 16. Before that he was pulled up in the Thyestes with two to go as he wasn’t making much headway on the top eight, although the Heavy ground may well not have suited.
Earlier in the 25/26 season he’d been entered into hurdles races in an attempt to keep his mark down, and lacklustre performances in his past two certainly haven’t hurt his weight.
Yet there is support for him in the market. Trainer Joseph Patrick O’Brien has one of the favourites in the market in Banbridge, but with that horse being asked to carry plenty, being the third-heaviest horse in the field, the vibe seems to be that he thinks Jordans has a better chance of pulling it out of the bag.
O’Brien has a strong pedigree, having two Melbourne Cups to his name along with wins over in the Breeders’ Cup, the King George and the Irish Derby. So he knows what he’s doing. Maybe he’s taking the route of ignoring everything else and getting his horse ready for just one race all season - this one. We’ve seen it before and we’ll see it again. It is a massive gamble but punters seem to be buying it.
A year ago Jordans went to the Aintree Festival and finished runner-up in the Mildmay, so he’s done well at the course before.
Tough one to make a strong argument or if you look solely at the numbers, but there is something there. Whether that potential comes to fruition on Saturday, personally I’m doubtful, yet plenty will support this French seven-year-old to defy recent form and compete for Grand National glory.
Jordans Grand National Odds & Chances:
The Grand National is the most bet on sports event in the UK and the market is always moving as money is staked.
At the opening of the Betting Market at Midday on Thursday, the betting odds of Jordans to win the race were 20/1 but, as of publication, you can back this horse at 33/1 to win the 2026 Aintree Grand National. This is a significant drift in the betting market indicating punters have cooled on his chances.
This indicates a 3% chance of winning when we convert their odds to implied probability.
