Oscars Brother has done so well that he caught the attention of billionaire JP McManus, who bought the horse from the King family but kept him training at the yard which had taken him so far already in his promising career, rather than move him to a more established name. It was a show of faith in Connor King and what he’s been able to do.

On board Oscars Brother on Saturday will be Connor’s brother, Daniel. This has been a proper family affair and the culmination of all their hard work will be seen on Saturday afternoon.

In his past 10 races, where he’s finished (there was one fall in there), only at Cheltenham in the Brown Advisory did he fail to finish in the top three. And even then, it was an extremely credible fourth-place finish and he was still moving forward as they crossed the finish line, which indicates there is plenty in the tank and stamina isn’t a major question.
