Nap of the Day

Betfred’s NAP of the Day is a daily column we provide here at Betfred Insights where one of our Horse Racing Tipsters picks out their best bet for the day’s racing.

For those who have never heard of a Racing NAP before, in essence, it is quite simply the horse that we think has the best chance of winning each day. This isn’t a longshot column but we are looking to provide winners and profit each and every day and our NAPs usually come from a race in the UK or Ireland. On occasion we may go overseas for our selection depending on who is writing the column.

Our own Owen McMahon takes the lead in this section and as one of our in-house Horse Racing Tipsters, he’ll provide his best bet every day that he is working and other members of the team will pick up the slack when he is unavailable.

For those wondering why the best bet is called a ‘NAP’ - it goes back to a card game called Napoleon, where the best hand you could have was called a Napoleon and over time that got shortened to NAP and got translated into the Horse Racing lexicon.
