This is a horse that wins or doesn’t finish so far in the 25/26 Jumps Season. Besides three victories, he's twice been pulled up before the end with only a poor run in the Lancashire Chase at Haydock Park being one where you could point to him not having been in contention that afternoon.

The wins, though, have been mightily impressive and have shown why many see this as one of the better bets outside the top-level favourites. First up back in November at Newbury, a strong finish led to victory in the Pertemps Network Handicap Hurdle at Newbury. That came at 17/2 with the two favourites that day not even being in the mix.

That lacklustre run at Haydock followed but victory in the Welsh Grand National just after Christmas certainly raised the eyebrows. Once more this nine-year-old showed plenty of staying power as he wasn’t at the front coming to the last but went clear and came home to win by three lengths.

A small field of four was all that made the trip to Newbury for the Grade 2 Denman Chase back in early February. But Haiti Couleurs came through without a hitch, winning by seven lengths as an odds-on favourite and had his eyes very much on the Cheltenham Gold Cup.

It wasn’t to be that Friday afternoon in March but he was in the mix before weakening with two left and being pulled up.

This is another contender who has already won at this course having triumphed back in 2024 over 3miles and 210yards, once more as an odds-on favourite.

I think the stamina questions aren’t going to be too loud, but how good he is actually jumping is still a bit of a question mark heading into Saturday’s Grand National. Haiti Couleurs certainly wasn’t fluent over the fences at Chepstow in the Welsh Grand National but jumped well enough. If he can do similar, coupled with good staying power, has a real chance.
