Argentina and Canada got the 2024 Copa America underway in the early hours of Friday, and the baton is now handed to Peru and Chile who meet at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas on Saturday (01:00, Premier Sports 1).

Neither side is particularly fancied to win the competition with Peru and Chile handed outright odds of 50/1 and 28/1 respectively, but both countries will be optimistic over their chances of reaching the knockouts.

To do so, they must finish in the top two, and with reigning champions Argentina heavily fancied to take first place in Group A, Saturday's match takes on even greater significance.

Ecuador and Venezuela open up Group B with a clash at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California on Saturday (23:00, Premier Sports 1).

Group favourites Mexico kick off their campaign the following day with a game against Jamaica, but eyes will first be fixed on Ecuador and Venezuela, who played out a goalless draw in Maturin last November.

Teenage sensation Kendry Paez - set to join Chelsea in the summer of 2025 - is one Ecuadorian player to keep an eye on, while Jhonder Cadiz is expected to be a threat for Venezuela after a 15-goal season in Portugal with Primeira Liga outfit Famalicao.

Turkey and Portugal made terrific starts to Euro 2024 but both were made to sweat for the three points they picked up.

Portugal are under the most pressure heading into Saturday's contest at BVB Stadion Dortmund (17:00, ITV 1/STV) after taking until second-half added time to get in front against the Czechs, and if Turkey's match with Georgia is anything to go by, they will be engulfed in a hostile atmosphere full of Turkish fans booing their every touch.

All eyes are on Cristiano Ronaldo, who fired off plenty of shots but was unable to get off the mark in his country's opener.
