Both sat pointless at the bottom of Group F, Georgia and Czech Republic will be looking to get off the mark at Euro 2024 when they lock horns on Saturday afternoon (14:00, live on BBC One).

This game is a crunch clash for both teams after they suffered defeats on matchday one. Read on for my Georgia vs Czech Republic prediction, as well as the latest team news and match odds.

Georgia vs Czech Republic Betting Tips

  • Only Czech Republic to score @ 9/5
  • Patrik Schick to score first @ 5/1
  • Correct Score - Czech Republic win 2-0 @ 7/1

Although they suffered a defeat in their debut outing at the European Championship, Georgia must be pleased with how they acquitted themselves last time out.

Willy Sagnol’s side went toe-to-toe with Turkey, despite losing 3-1, and the opposition’s third goal came deep into second-half stoppage time as Georgia were pushing for an equaliser.

There were also positives for Czech Republic to take from their defeat to Portugal. They frustrated Cristiano Ronaldo and co. for large periods of the game and displayed a disciplined defensive shape, which they'll need once again on Saturday.

Team News

Following the impressive display against Turkey, Sagnol is unlikely to make changes to their starting XI.

Therefore, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia will join Georges Mikautadze up front, while Giorgi Kochorashvili should retain his place in the engine room.

As for Czech Republic, Patrik Schick will attempt to build on his five-goal haul at Euro 2020 after firing a blank against Portugal last time out. West Ham United pairing Tomas Soucek and Vladimir Coufal will continue play key roles in Ivan Hasek's side.

Georgia vs Czech Republic Odds

Georgia are 4/1 - or a theoretical chance of 20% - to claim a famous victory, while Czech Republic are odds-on at 8/11 and the draw can be backed at 11/4.

Both teams to score is available at 5/6 and over 2.5 goals is currently 10/11.

Only Czech Republic to score @ 9/5

Czech Republic will be expected to flip the script against Georgia and play on the front foot, which could leave them vulnerable on the counter attack.

However, I was impressed with the defensive shape displayed by Hasek's side, and that will be key again as the Czechs were not exactly free-scoring in a straightforward qualifying group, finding the net just 12 times in eight games against Albania, Poland, Moldova and the Faroe Islands.

Georgia took risks against Turkey, which ultimately didn't pay off, so it'll be interesting to see how they approach this game as they'll be looking to pick up their first points.

Only Czech Republic to score at 9-5

Patrik Schick to score first @ 5/1

If the Czechs are to have any joy in front of goal, no doubt it'll come from Bayer Leverkusen striker Patrik Schick.

The 28-year-old finished as the joint-top scorer at the last edition of the European Championship, scoring five goals, and he'll need to be firing on all cylinders if his nation are to advance to the round of 16.

Patrick Schick to score first at 5-1

Correct Score - Czech Republic win 2-0 @ 7/1

If I was to predict the scoreline for this game, I'd opt for a 2-0 Czech Republic victory.

I'm expecting the Czechs to take more risks and initiative going forward, as well as keeping things tight at the back, and ultimately their quality should prevail as there's 40 places to separate the two teams in the FIFA World Rankings.

Czech Republic to win 2-0 at 7-1
