Group F got off to an enthralling start in matchday one, and now the two winners from those opening games meet in Dortmund. Turkey will be backed by tremendous support as they take on Portugal on Saturday (17:00, ITV), with both sides knowing that a win will not only get them into the last 16, but see them top the group.

There is a lot riding on this game, and below you can find my Turkey vs Portugal Bet Builder Tips.

Turkey vs Portugal Odds

Portugal to win

Although I was massively impressed with Turkey in their opening match, we must take into consideration a couple of things. First of all, they were facing the lowest-ranked team in the competition and they were expected to win fairly comfortably. Secondly, they scored two sensational long-range strikes that on a normal day, may not have found the net. Having said that, they did create an xG of 2.73 in a simply sensational game.

However, they also gave up loads of chances, as Georgia remarkably created an xG of 1.55. If Turkey are that loose at the back against Portugal, they will get seriously punished. The talent in this Portugal squad is arguably second-to-none in this competition and they were the dominant force in their win over the Czech Republic, even if it took until the 92nd minute for them to find a winner.

I think Portugal will secure top spot and be able to win this game with the quality at their disposal.

With Bruno Fernandes, Cristiano Ronaldo and Rafael Leao, Portugal should be able to put this Turkey team under serious pressure and find the net on several occasions. Roberto Martinez will stay patient with this team, but he also has the firepower on the bench to change a game if needed. However, I also think they will be tested at the back.

This game should feature loads of goals, given the strength of both attacks. No team in the first round of fixtures created a higher xG than Turkey managed, and with their two 19-year-old superstars they should be able to cause problems. Arda Guler stole the headlines with his superb long-range stunner, and the Real Madrid man could be the breakout star of the tournament. Meanwhile with Juventus’ Kenan Yildiz on the other wing, Turkey have two teenage talents that could seriously trouble Portugal.

Euro 2024 Odds

Each team over 3.5 corners

With two teams keen to attack, I’m happy to boost our odds slightly by backing each team to have at least four corners. Turkey had five corners against Georgia and also conceded five, while Portugal had a whopping 13 corners in their win over the Czech Republic. Both of these sides will attack with intent, so I think as a result, we are likely to get a decent amount of corners. Four apiece seems like an achievable target.
