Greyhound Tips - Thursday, March 19

  • 1 pt 19:16 Hove – Clona Kody (T6) @ SP
  • 1 pt 19:49 Hove - Dereks Champ (T1) @ SP
  • 1 pt 20:24 Hove – Raebella Bullet (T1) @ SP

1 pt 19:16 Hove – Clona Kody (T6) @ SP

All eyes on the Nevill Road circuit Hove this evening for an ultra-competitive card featuring ten open races. At 19:16 in the Coral Thursday Night 500 Standard, look out for well-drawn wide seed CLONA KODY from T6. The Richard Rees-trained June 2022 son of Droopys Sydney looks plotted up with a vacant box on his inside and four railers all battling it out for early supremacy at the rails.

Kody is blessed with blistering early pace. When he gets it right at the boxes and leads round, he's a 29.50 type of performer over this four-bend 500-metre trip, a repeat of that would make him hard to peg back. Ower Cracker (T2) mixes it over four and six-bends, he can chase the selection home and fill the forecast spot. Zenith Rocket (T3) is a class act and would be a danger to all with a level break.

1 pt 19:49 Hove - Dereks Champ (T1) @ SP

Richard Rees can double up at 19:49 when DEREKS CHAMP lines up from T1 in the Coral Thursday Night 285 Maiden Sprint over the two-bend 285-metre trip. Off the track since mid-December following lameness, Dereks Champ has moved well in course and distance trials in recent weeks, clocking 16.61 and then 16.57 last time out. Those runs would have blown away the cobwebs, and the July 2023 son of Glengar Bale should be spot on now and ready to return to winning ways.

As ever over the sprint trip, this race is all about the break. If Dereks Champ holds the rails and hits the first bend on the bunny, he can pull clear and land this for his owners, who have kept the faith with Dereks Champ who has recorded just six competitive runs since moving over from Ireland last summer. Signora Veloce (T2) will be staying on and grab the forecast spot.

1 pt 20:24 Hove – Raebella Bullet (T1) @ SP

The third and final selection at Hove this evening is the Belinda Green-trained railer RAEBELLA BULLET who lines up from T1 at 20:24 in the Trophy final. A vacant box on her outside strengthens claims and, with a level break, the July 2023 daughter of Good News can lead round and make all. In the heats of this competition, Raebella Bullet hit the front early on and went onto win by a length and three quarters in 29.53 following a smart 3.59 sectional.

Tonight, if Raebella Bullet gets it right at the boxes, she can lead off the second bend and kick for home. Early paced wide seed Rapido Rosin (T6) rates as the main danger. The Paul Young-trained Romford raider has won three on the bounce over course and distance and is likely to prove popular with punters again this evening. Undergroundnicky (T2) will be staying on well and could be the value forecast mixer in the race.

Hove @ 20:24:00 - Winner
Raebella Bullet
