Friday Greyhound Tips: A trio of top Towcester tips

Our resident Greyhound guru Michael Smyth (@bettingjungle) is back with three tasty tips from Towcester this fine Friday.

1 pt 18:58 Towcester – Ballymac Deniro (T6) @ SP

All eyes on Towcester this evening with round two of the 2026 Star Sports and Orchestrate English Greyhound Derby taking centre stage. At 18:58, Proper Heiress (T4) and Ballymac Deniro (T6) clash in what should be a cracker. Preference is for the Liam Dowling-trained Irish raider Deniro from T6. Last week in the first-round heats, the May 2024 son of Ballymac Finn showed huge middle gears to hit the front at the third bend and power clear, winning by over four lengths in 28.88 on Towcester debut.

Tonight, it's all about avoiding an early bump, turning within striking distance and then it's race on. Proper Heiress is a class act who needs no introduction. The Mark Wallis-trained superstar bolted up in the first-round heats and will be looking to lead round and make all this evening. There is, however, plenty of pace on his inside with The Other Kodi (T2) capable of a flashy exit from the traps. Proper Heiress will be looking to avoid a bump and book his place in the next round of the Derby for owners the MWD Partnership.

1 pt 19:58 Towcester – Ballymac Ralf (T2) @ SP

At 19:58, look out for May 2024 youngster BALLYMAC RALF who lines up from T2. The Liam Dowling-trained son of Ballymac Cooper caught the eye last week when staying on well to grab second and book his place in the second round of the English Greyhound Derby. Tonight, Ralf looks well-drawn to track the pace and make his move down the back straight.

Romeo Ability (T4) rates as the main danger. The recent 28.55 course and distance trial reads well and the Patrick Janssens-trained railer would be a huge runner if he pings the lids and hits the front early on. Another with a huge chance is Slick Sentinel from T6. A semi-finalist last year, the wide is sure to prove popular in the market from what looks like a plot draw.

1 pt 21:18 Towcester – Underground Gold (T1) @ SP

The third and final selection from Towcester this evening is UNDERGROUND GOLD, who runs from T1 in heat 8 at 21:18. The Paul Young-trained youngster was ultra-impressive on the eye last week on Towcester debut, clocking 29.20 when making all, beating 2025 Time Greyhound Nutrition Northern Flat winner Naochra by a length and three-quarters.

Tonight, with improvement possible from the August 2024 pup, he looks a solid selection. Irish raider Lennies Eddie (T4) rates as the main danger. Last week from a rails draw, Eddie met trouble. T4 should suit better, and he looks a huge runner this evening and, in the competition, outright. Glengar Silent (T6) had to do plenty of running last week to grab a qualifying spot. He could be worth including in forecast bets.
