Friday Greyhound Tips: Tammy The Best from Sunderland?

It's Friday and it's time to check in with our greyhound guru Michael Smyth (@bettingjungle) as he takes us through a trio of top tips from today's racing action. Smyth was at Newcastle yesterday but heads over to Sunderland for today's fancies.

Today's Greyhound Odds

1 pt 19:03 Sunderland – Hardwick Teddy (T4) @ SP

Two from three at Newcastle last night with Foulkscourt Bono and Loxleys Forest both running out impressive winners. Tonight, we head back to the north east with Sunderland taking centre stage. At 19:03 look out for HARDWICK TEDDY, who lines up from T4 in the Arena Racing Company Stayers open race over the six-bend 640-metre trip. Newcastle raider Teddy starts and stays.

If the January 2023 son of Daves Mentor pops out and leads round, his natural middle pace will see him skip three or four lengths clear and once on the bunny, Teddy will prove hard to peg back. Proper Rockett (T1) has shaped well over four-bends in recent weeks following a move across the Irish Sea. She’s worth noting in the market on her English six-bend debut. Fabulous Delta (T2) also steps up in trip for the first time and is another who could go well.

1 pt 19:23 Sunderland – Tammy The Best (T4) @ SP

The Arena Racing Company Marathon at 19:23 over the eight-bend 828-metre trip can go to Newcastle-based runner TAMMY THE BEST, who runs from T4 for trainer Jimmy Fenwick. The middle seed has caught the eye in recent weeks staying on well over the 480 metre and 640 metre trips at her home track. Tonight, on eight-bend debut Tammy will be looking to turn handy, make her move by the fourth bend and hit the front by the sixth. Stamina over this trip isn’t proven yet, but she stays on well to the drop over six-bends, so it shouldn’t be an issue.

Frankton Ivy (T1) is the guaranteed stayer in the race. The Towceter raider has mixed it with the best around in recent months and looks a major player this evening. Borna Parachute is an interesting runner from T2. The Dean Blackbird-trained railer has plenty of solid six-bend open race form and has won over 750 metres at Romford, he’s another who could go well at a price.

1 pt 20:43 Sunderland – Keefill Rocky (T3) @ SP

The third and final selection from Sunderland is KEEFILL ROCKY, who runs from T3 in the Category Two BGBF British Bred Cup final over the four-bend 450-metre trip at Sunderland. The Towcester raider, trained by Phil Milner, is blessed with blistering all round pace as he showed on June 5, with a quick-away-made-all victory over course and distance in 27.09 following a flashy 4.91 sectional. 

A repeat of that flying run would see Rocky lead round and land a knockout blow to his rivals. Kennelmate Keefill Goose rates as the main danger from T4. It's imperative that Rocky holds Goose at lid rise and leads round. King Floyd (T2) won in impressive fashion in the heats last week and has claims if he pops out and clears Romeo Victor (T1) at lid rise. Fardoe Sleek (T5) goes into the race as the outsider of five, but has claims, especially if those drawn rails to middle bump early on.
