Our weekend Ligue 1 predictions column returns after going one-for-three last time out. Olympique Marseille did the business in our result/BTTS shout v Montpellier, but Strasbourg failed to get on the scoresheet against Stade Brest and Nice were held to a goalless draw by Clermont Foot.

Three of those clubs are back in this weekend as we go looking for a hat-trick...

Weekend Ligue 1 Betting Tips - March 2/3:

  • Stade Reims to beat Lille OSC @ 7/4
  • Montpellier HSC or draw & BTTS - Yes in Montpellier HSC v RC Strasbourg @ 5/4
  • Stade Brest half-time/full-time v Le Havre @ 7/5

Stade Reims to beat Lille OSC @ 7/4 (Saturday, March 2 - KO, 16:00)

Reims return to action at the Stade Auguste-Delaune on Saturday fresh off a 2-1 win at Le Havre last weekend, a result which ended their four-game winless run in Ligue 1.

Will Still's side now go in search of a first home victory of the calendar year, having taken two points from three matches on their own patch in 2024.

Les rouges et blancs can take confidence from the terrible recent away record of their next visitors, who have last three straight matches on the road. In fact, Lille haven't won any of their last six league games away from home, despite sitting fifth in the table, four points ahead of Reims.

Lille suffered a 3-1 reverse in Toulouse last Sunday, and with the winning feeling restored at Reims, they could find it tough going again away from the Stade Pierre-Mauroy.

Reims to beat Lille at 7-4

Montpellier HSC or draw & BTTS - Yes in Montpellier HSC v RC Strasbourg @ 5/4 (Sunday, March 3 - KO, 14:00)

Sunday's clash at the Stade de la Mosson could be crucial in the Ligue 1 relegation fight, with both sides in danger of being sucked into the relegation zone.

Hosts Montpellier have won just once in Ligue 1 this calendar year, a 3-0 victory over fellow strugglers Metz, while it's been even worse for Strasbourg who haven't won in the league since December 20.

The away record of the visitors isn't too promising either - only Lorient (nine) and Marseille (seven) have picked up fewer points on the road than Strasbourg.

Montpellier have actually been pretty tough to beat at home, with only Lyon, Brest and Reims managing to get the better of them in the 12 league games they have played there this term.

La Paillade should have enough to at least avoid defeat on Sunday, but we can expect a goal or two on either side given the defensive deficiencies displayed by both. Only Lorient (44) and Metz (37) have shipped more goals than Strasbourg in Ligue 1, and Montpellier aren't much better off on 31 conceded.

Montpellier or draw & BTTS - Yes vs Strasbourg at 5-4

Stade Brest half-time/full-time v Le Havre @ 7/5 (Sunday, March 3 - KO, 14:00)

Les Pirates continue to impress this season, with last weekend's 3-0 win at Strasbourg making it 12 games unbeaten. They now face a side shorn of confidence as Le Havre have failed to win their last five matches in Ligue 1, losing their last three.

Sunday's visitors to the Stade Francis-Le Ble have won just once away from home in the league this term, and all five of their defeats on the road have seen them go behind at the interval.

Brest were in the mood last Saturday as Mahdi Camara scored a first-half brace before helping himself to a hat-trick, and I can see them making another fast start against Le Havre.

Brest HT-FT vs Le Havre at 7-5
