Norway vs England Odds

We spoke to John this week after the brilliant last 16 victory over Mexico which confirmed Norway as England's next opponents on Saturday. We asked John what threat they would pose to Thomas Tuchel's side?

“We’ve seen how good and physical Norway are. They’re probably equally, or potentially more, physical than England and they’ve got some very good technical players. I don’t think it’s a given that England beat Norway, especially because they’ve got Erling Haaland as well. 

It’s going to be a very difficult match and England needs to take it one game at a time. All the pressure will be on them because nobody expected Norway to make it to the quarter-finals. I’m more pleased that England are playing Norway instead of Brazil, but we can’t get complacent now and think we’re already in the semi-finals.”

Barnes gave us the following, when asked about a comparison between the big Norwegian and England's own hero, Harry Kane

“They’re obviously two different players, with Haaland being the younger of the two. I think Erling is probably ahead of Harry Kane because of his age, but the greatest similarity between the two is that you might not see much of them during a game, but they’ll turn up at the right moment, hit the target and score goals.”

Jude Bellingham 2+ Shots on Target (Sub Switch - Extra Time)

We also asked about Jude Bellingham, who had one of the modern great performances against the Mexicans. How good was he?

“He’s a fantastic player, obviously, and that team is designed for him and Harry Kane to score goals.

You would have seen a different Jude Bellingham if Cole Palmer and Phil Foden were there because he’d be driving forward less to score the goals as they would be the playmakers and the ones getting the headlines because Jude would be playing as a typical number eight.”

Ezri Konza to be carded (Sub Switch - Extra Time)

Konza could well be forced to play in an unfamiliar right back position against Norway. Or he could be up against Haaland. A frightening prospect either way...
