Norway vs England Prediction: Is Erling Haaland unstoppable?

Here we are again then. England are in a World Cup quarter-final on Saturday as the Three Lions prepare to face Norway in Miami (5pm local, 10pm BST, ITV1).

Team News

Stale Solbakken made a double substitution at half-time in the win over Brazil, taking off Alexander Sorloth and Antonio Nusa for Andreas Schjelderup and Oscar Bobb.

With Antonio Nusa set to start on the left, he could look to swap Sorloth out for the creative Schjelderup on the right wing, with Erling Haaland guaranteed to start up front. 

England have to solve their right-back issue with Jarell Quansah now suspended, with Djed Spence the most likely to start in that position up against Nusa. Harry Kane and Jude Bellingham will hope to continue their fine form in the final third, while Anthony Gordon looks to have locked down the left wing spot ahead of Marcus Rashford.

Jordan Henderson will miss the rest of the tournament having broken his wrist in the post-match celebrations in Mexico City.

Erling Haaland to score anytime @ 23/20

I know we can’t guarantee things in football, but Haaland looks unstoppable at this World Cup. He has scored seven goals in four appearances this summer, scoring in every single match he has played. A brace against Brazil dragged his side to this point and now he comes up against some familiar faces, but a back four that has looked shaky for the entire tournament.

Mexico scored twice against England, as did Croatia, while DR Congo also found their way past Jordan Pickford. There is no doubt that the Three Lions have been better defensively at other tournaments recently, so I will back Haaland to bag at some stage.

This game should be another belter as England are involved, but Norway have also been highly entertaining this summer. Both teams have scored in all five of their World Cup matches and I expect that to continue here. 

Haaland should find the net, while I’m also backing Bellingham to have another big say in England’s World Cup hopes. He was simply superb in Mexico as he bagged a brace, and I think he can contribute with either a goal or assist here.
