There is an interesting battle taking place in Ligue 1 on Friday evening as Monaco host Nice, with both sides still yet to taste defeat this season. We preview this fixture by taking a look at the most interesting markets on offer in this fixture.

Monaco vs Nice Betting Tips

  • Over 3.5 goals – 11/8
  • Aleksandr Golovin to score anytime – 11/4

Team news

Monaco will be without Breel Embolo, Mohammed Salisu and Eliesse Ben Seghir for the visit of Nice on Friday night, but it is hoped that Edan Diop will be fit in time to make the squad. Kephren Thuram remains the only key absentee for Nice heading into this one.

Over 3.5 goals at 11/8

It is always impressive when teams have such brilliant starts to the season, particularly when they can go unbeaten. Both Monaco and Nice haven’t lost any of their first five league matches in 2023-24, so this is set up to be an interesting affair.

They have both shown that they can score goals. Monaco are the league leaders for goals as well as points, with Adi Hutter’s side finding the back of the net on 15 occasions already this term. Nice have scored seven themselves.

Three of them in their last outing as they posted an impressive 3-2 victory over reigning champions Paris Saint-Germain last time out at Parc des Princes – so a huge upset on the road is not out of reach for them.

Both teams are blessed with attacking quality and that should shine through on the pitch on Friday evening. We expect a high-scoring affair in this one just as Nice experienced a week ago. It was their first game of the season that saw three or more goals. As for Monaco, they have been involved in three games so far where four goals have been scored in the game.

Aleksandr Golovin to score anytime at 11/4

Monaco boss Hutter will be pleased with how his attackers have started the season. Striker Wissam Ben Yedder has four goals while attacking players Takumi Minamino and Aleksandr Golovin have three and two respectively in Ligue 1. Golovin has been the man in-form in recent weeks with his goals coming in his last two appearances. This sets him up nicely for the challenge that Nice will bring on Friday.

The way that he has been linking up with his attacking teammates has been most impressive, with Hutter’s style already taking shape so early into his reign. When a player is on a scoring streak they will do everything to keep it going. So Golovin will be raring to go against Nice and fancy himself to add to his tally for the season, to help Monaco extend their unbeaten start.
