Paris FC vs Lorient Prediction: Promoted sides to produce again in Paris

Ligue 1's Friday night fixture this week pits a pair of promoted clubs, Paris FC and Lorient, who finished second and first, respectively, in Ligue 2 last season, against each other at the Stade Jean Bouin. Both have made solid starts to the campaign, picking up seven points apiece after six games.
Read on for my Paris FC vs Lorient predictions, complete with all the latest team news and match odds, ahead of Friday's contest (19:45 BST, Ligue 1 Pass).

Team News
Pierre-Yves Hamel (hamstring), Vincent Marchetti and Lohann Doucet (both unspecified) are all doubtful of featuring for Paris FC on Friday after missing multiple matches recently.
Lorient are likely to be without ankle injury victims Nathaniel Adjei, Bandiougou Fadiga and Trevan Sanusi, as well as Isaak Toure (knee) and Panos Katseris (thigh).
However, Darlin Yongwa is available after serving the final game of his two-match suspension in last Saturday's 3-1 victory over AS Monaco.
Paris FC vs Lorient Predicted Lineups
- Paris FC: Nkambadio; Traore, Mbow, Otavio, De Smet; M. Lopez, Lees-Melou, Camara; Kebbal, Geubbels, Simon
- Lorient: Mvogo; Meite, Talbi, Faye; Le Bris, Avom, Abergel, Kouassi; Dermane, Aiyegun; Soumano
Paris are 9/10 to record a second home win of the year over Lorient, implying a 52.6% probability of success, while Lorient are 3/1, or a 25% chance, to triumph on their travels for the first time this season, after beginning the away campaign with two defeats and one draw.
A first stalemate between the two teams since April 2019 can be backed at 13/5, with both teams to score priced at 4/6.
Paris FC vs Lorient Stats
- Pierre Lees-Melou (PAR) received seven yellows in 20 Ligue 1 apps last season
- Paris FC beat Lorient 3-2 at home in February
- BTTS-Yes & over 2.5 goals has landed in 66.6% (four) of Paris FC's matches this term
Player to Receive a Card - Pierre Lees-Melou (PAR) @ 3/1
Paris FC midfielder Pierre Lees-Melou, who joined in the summer from Stade Brestois, picked up his first competitive card for his new club (he was booked in a friendly against Sassuolo on August 9) against his former side in a 2-1 win on September 14.
The 32-year-old is averaging two fouls per game in Ligue 1 for Paris FC, committing five fouls in last Sunday's 1-1 draw at OGC Nice.
Lees-Melou has averaged 1.6 fouls per game in the last two Ligue 1 seasons, receiving 12 yellows and one red in 29 appearances in 2023/24, and seven cautions in 20 games in 2024/25.
I'm expecting sparks to fly in Paris on Friday, with six yellows and one red issued between the two teams here earlier this year, and six yellows handed out in the reverse fixture last season.
Considering his disciplinary record, and his potential midfield rivals - Lorient's Arthur Avom Ebong has been fouled nine times across five starts this term - the Frenchman is, for me, the standout candidate in the Player to Receive a Card market.

Both Teams To Score & Total Goals Over/Under + 2.5 - Yes & Over 2.5 @ 11/10
Last season's corresponding fixture produced five goals, with Paris FC claiming all three points in a 3-2 win in March to avenge their 2-0 defeat at the Stade du Moustoir last December.
Ligue 2 champions Lorient scored a division-high 68 goals last season and boasted the best defence, conceding just 31 times in 34 games, with their matches averaging 2.91 goals.
Paris FC scored 55 and conceded 33, averaging 2.58 goals per game.
Neither side has struggled to strike this term, with Paris FC scoring 10 in six, and Lorient nine in six; however, they have shipped 13 and 14 goals, respectively - only bottom club Metz (13) have also conceded 13+.
Paris FC's Ligue 1 games are averaging 3.83 goals per game, the same as Lorient.
Both teams have scored in Paris FC's last five games, and three of Lorient's last four, while BTTS-Yes and over 2.5 goals has landed in 66.6% (four) of Paris FC's matches, and 33.3% (two) of Lorient's.
