Football Bet of the Day: Frankfurt and Dortmund to provide entertainment

Tuesday has a little bit for everyone when it comes to getting your football fix. There's Carabao Cup action, as well as games from League 1 and League 2. But for the second day running, I am heading over to the continent for my Football Bet of the Day.

This time we go to Germany, where there are a handful of DFB-Pokal second round ties taking place, including Eintracht Frankfurt vs Borussia Dortmund (17:30 GMT, Premier Sports 1). It's from this game that I have made my selection, which you will find below.

Frankfurt have won three of their seven home games across all competitions this term and they are 15/8 to win this game in regulation time.

Dortmund are 6/5 (implied probability of 45.5%) to prevail in 90 minutes, and they have won four of their seven away trips in all competitions this season.

The draw is marketed at 5/2.

Over 3.5 goals has been a successful bet in five of the hosts' appearances at Deutsche Bank Park this campaign and it is valued at 11/8 for Tuesday's cup tie.

Eintracht's matches have mostly been very entertaining this season because they have rarely been lacking for goals. It has been a common trend for Die Adler and I can see this continuing against Dortmund in the DFB-Pokal.

Both sides have a lot of quality in attack and the hosts are particularly vulnerable at the back, having conceded 29 goals across the 11 games they have played across all competitions in 2025/26.

There is a lot to be improved when it comes to the hosts' defending, but their attacking output has been impressive. Only league leaders Bayern Munich (30) have scored more goals than Frankfurt (21) in the Bundesliga this term.

The evidence is pointing towards this clash having a fair amount of goals but the goal threshold is not the focus of my selection.

My Football Bet of the Day is for Dortmund to win this game in regulation time as I think the rate that Eintracht are leaking goals at the moment is not healthy and I predict that the Black and Yellows can exploit this on Tuesday night.

Dortmund responded well to their late Der Klassiker defeat at Bayern Munich by beating Koln 1-0 at the weekend, having won a six-goal thriller at Copenhagen in midweek in the Uefa Champions League.

Niko Kovac's charges are coming into this cup tie with a decent amount of momentum behind them, and while Eintracht were victorious here against St. Pauli on Saturday, they have lost three of their previous four appearances at Deutsche Bank Park.

That's why I think the 5/2 price for this selection is so appealing. The hosts are fragile at the back and are suffering more losses at home than they would like, while Dortmund have shown to be an effective team on their travels.

The Black and Yellows have won four of their seven away trips in all competitions so far, including three of their past five. I think Kovac has more than enough attacking options at his disposal to out-gun Eintracht here, but the BTTS aspect is worth adding to improve the odds based on the fact that nine of the hosts' 11 fixtures this campaign have seen both teams get on the scoresheet.
