Jordan World Cup 2026: Tenth time’s the charm for debutants!

Jordan will embark on their first-ever FIFA World Cup campaign this upcoming summer, after nine previous attempts at qualification.

There’ll be very little expectations on this nation, so the players can go out an express themselves. With that in mind, I’ve looked at the Jordan World Cup 2026 Odds.

Tenth time’s the charm as far as Jordan are concerned.

After multiple attempts to qualify for a spot on the world stage, Jordan has finally managed it and will be heading to North America this summer, marking a major milestone for the nation.

The qualified by finishing second in Group B in the third round of AFC qualifying and suffered just three defeats in 16 matches. A 3–0 win over Oman was the decisive result, courtesy of a hat-trick from Ali Olwan back in June 2025.

As mentioned in the introduction, there’s no expectation for this group of players, and I think many would be surprised to see them even accumulate a single point in this group.

Ranked 63^rd in the world, Jordan can enjoy the experience of this World Cup and hopefully use it as a springboard to become a regular at this tournament.

Group J Fixtures:

17 June 9pm local (18 June 5am BST) – vs Austria (San Francisco)

23 June 8pm local (24 June 4am BST) – vs Algeria (San Francisco)

28 June 9pm local (29 June 3am BST) - vs Argentina (Dallas)

Player to watch: Musa Al-Taamari

Musa Al-Taamari is the captain of the national team and one the very few players who ply their trade in Europe’s elite leagues – in this case Rennes in Ligue 1.

The 28-year-old is a regular for the French outfit and is a useful outlet on the counter-attack due to his pace and trickery.

Al-Taamari has made 70 appearances for his country and now gets to lead them out on the biggest stage of them all – arguably the proudest moment of every player’s career.

Prediction: Group-stage exit

As much as I love this story and an underdog, I can’t see Jordan pulling up any trees in Group J. There's simply too much attacking quality in the likes of Argentina, Algeria and Austria and I do worry that Jordan will be unable to cope.

They’ll finish rock-bottom of the group, with zero points, in my opinion.
