Brazil booked their place in the round of 16 at the FIFA World Cup in dramatic style. The Canaries defeated Japan with an injury-time winner courtesy of Gabriel Martinelli. Carlo Ancelotti's side will now take on Norway in New Jersey on Sunday (4pm local time/9pm BST, ITV1/STV) for a place in the quarter-finals.

Brazil

The good news for Brazil is that Barcelona winger Raphinha has returned to training, having missed the past two matches because of a hamstring injury. He's unlikely to go straight back into the team, however, due to the form of Rayan.

Lucas Paqueta is at risk of missing the remainder of the tournament after he picked up an issue against Japan last time out. Endrick will likely get the nod to take Paqueta's place in the attack on Sunday.

Vinicius Jr will operate on the left side of the front four and the Real Madrid star has contributed four goals to the Canaries' cause already.

Marquinhos and Gabriel will continue as the centre-back pairing, and there'll be an added level of spice for the latter given his history with Norway striker Erling Haaland at a domestic level.

Ancelotti was vindicated in leaving Casemiro on the pitch against Japan. The veteran midfielder headed home the equaliser after a first-half display that was scrutinised.

Norway

Haaland has five goals at the World Cup and he was the match-winner against Ivory Coast in the round of 32. The Manchester City striker will continue through the middle for the Vikings, supported by Antonio Nusa, who opened the scoring last time out, and Alexander Sorloth.

Boss Stale Sobbaken might be tempted to stick with a similar XI but he may consider putting Julian Ryerson back at right-back in place of Marcus Pedersen. Torbjorn Heggem and Kristoffer Ajer will be expected to line up ahead of goalkeeper Orjan Nyland in East Rutherford.

Norway have no fresh injury concerns ahead of this clash.

Brazil vs Norway Key Players:

Vinicius Jr (Brazil)

This is a very exciting tussle on paper and it could be decided by individual quality. The two teams possess prolific goalscorers who are both firmly in the Golden Boot race.

Vinicius Jr has already produced moments of magic at the World Cup. He didn't find the net against Japan but he almost scored a goal that would've been immortalised forever. It was a dazzling solo run that forced a brilliant save from Zion Suzuki.

The wide man will present a tough test for whoever plays at right-back for Norway.

Erling Haaland (Norway)

I don't think anyone doubted Haaland would make his mark this summer and the Norway striker has already netted five goals across his three appearances in North America.

He was on hand to win the Ivory Coast clash for the Vikings, and I believe his talents will be critical if they are to get past Brazil on Sunday. Haaland will have some additional motivation to strike against Brazil, given his on-field past with Gabriel.
