West Ham vs Brentford Prediction: Can Hammers continue revival?

West Ham United have given themselves a decent shot at survival in the Premier League with recent performances, and Nuno Espirito Santo’s side also have a decent shot at making the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.
The Hammers host Brentford on Monday night to round off the Fifth Round (19:30 GMT, TNT Sports 1), looking to make the last eight. Check out my West Ham vs Brentford predictions down below.

Team News
West Ham are likely to be without both Lukasz Fabianski and Pablo Felipe for this one, but we can expect Santo to name a strong XI again given the prize at stake here. Premier League survival is the priority but the momentum the Hammers have built up won’t want to be lost at the London Stadium against Brentford.
Freddie Potts is back available despite being sent off against Burton, while Callum Wilson could lead the line in this one alongside Valentin Castellanos as the duo hunt for more goals.
Brentford boss Keith Andrews confirmed that Rico Henry has injured his hamstring and will be ruled out for several weeks. He joins a lengthy injury list featuring Fabio Carvalho, Antoni Milambo, Josh Dasilva, Aaron Hickey and Vitaly Janelt, but Reiss Nelson is on his way back from a calf problem.
Keane Lewis-Potter should start in place of Henry, while Hakon Valdimarsson and Ethan Pinnock may also be in line for starting berths.
West Ham vs Brentford Predicted Lineups
- West Ham - Areola; Walker-Peters, Mavropanos, Disasi, Scarles; Bowen, Fernandes, Magassa, Summerville; Wilson, Castellanos
- Brentford - Valdimarsson; Kayode, Pinnock, Ajer, Lewis-Potter; Yarmoliuk, Henderson; Ouattara, Damsgaard, Schade; Thiago
West Ham are priced at 15/8 to win this game in 90 minutes, while Brentford are the 13/10 favourites. That gives them an implied win probability of 44%, with a draw that would force extra time now 13/5.
Over 2.5 goals is 8/11, BTTS is 8/13 and Igor Thiago is the favourite to score first at 7/2.
West Ham vs Brentford Stats
- West Ham have six wins, two draws and two defeats in their last 10 matches
- Brentford have won two of their last five in all competitions
- Jarrod Bowen has eight PL goals this season
West Ham to win the tie @ 11/10
I think there’s decent value in backing the hosts to win this tie. West Ham have certainly turned a corner in recent weeks and now they are level on points with Nottingham Forest in the Premier League, and just one point behind Tottenham Hotspur in the race for survival.
Since losing to Forest on January 6, a result that looked to have doomed them to relegation this term, they’ve lost just twice - away at Chelsea and away at Liverpool. In both of those games they scored twice, but their run of six wins, two draws and two defeats has given their season new life.
Brentford, including their 1-0 win at Macclesfield in the Fourth Round, have won two of their last five and are certainly competitive, but they have suffered some key injuries and as a result I’d rather back the hosts. Their underdog status also means we can back them to win the tie, rather than get the job done in 90 minutes, which gives us extra time and penalties to hope for a home win.

Price Boost - Jarrod Bowen to score anytime @ 9/4
Jarrod Bowen is still West Ham’s biggest threat in my opinion and he’s now up to eight league goals this season. Nuno has switched to two strikers recently but he is flexible with that system, and it wouldn’t surprise me if we see Bowen deployed up top at some point during the 90 minutes.
I think whenever he’s Price Boosted it is worth taking a look, and I feel he could provide the cup magic for the Hammers on Monday night.
