Premier League strugglers Leicester City welcome Queens Park Rangers to the King Power Stadium for a third-round FA Cup tie on Saturday afternoon (14:00).

Ruud van Nistelrooy's side opened their 2025 schedule with a 2-1 defeat to Aston Villa, while the visitors' 2-1 triumph at home to Luton Town lifted them into 13th place in the Championship. Read on for my Leicester City vs QPR prediction, as well as the latest team news and match odds.

Team News

Jannik Vestergaard came off with an injury for the Foxes in the aforementioned defeat to Villa, and it still remains to be seen how long the defender will be out for.

Wilfred Ndidi, Ricardo Pereira, Mads Hermansen and Abdul Fatawu are definite absentees, however Victor Kristiansen and Kasey McAteer could be deemed fit enough to feature on Saturday.

As for the visitors, Paul Smyth was substituted early in the win over Luton, so he could miss out here, while Zan Celar and Karamoko Dembele remain on the treatment table.

Leicester City vs QPR Odds

Leicester are 4/7 favourites to win in 90 minutes, giving them an implied win probability of 63.6%, with the draw 16/5 and QPR are priced up 9/2 to win in regulation time.

Jamie Vardy tops the anytime goalscorer market at 11/10, while Michael Frey is shortest-priced for the visitors at 5/2.

Double Chance - Draw or QPR (90 mins) @ 13/10

Leicester’s losing streak was extended to five matches at Villa Park last weekend, and they could have to wait even longer for their next win when QPR come to town on Saturday afternoon.

The Foxes are currently sat 19th in the Premier League, having won just four matches across all competitions this season, with just one win coming in their last 13 outings.

QPR suffered a poor start to their campaign too, winning just one of their opening 16 league fixtures, but they've turned it around in recent weeks, with Monday's triumph against Luton moving them nine points clear of the drop zone.

The visitors are looking decent in both boxes and that will make them dangerous opponents for Leicester, who are on a five-game losing run heading into this encounter.

In addition, the primary objective for Van Nistelrooy will be to keep Leicester in Premier League, so a rotated Foxes side could be there for the taking - QPR don't play again until the following Saturday after this third-round clash, so they're more likely to go with a first-choice starting XI here.

Jamie Vardy to score anytime @ 11/10

Vardy hasn't scored for the Foxes since the 2-2 draw with Brighton & Hove Albion on December 8, but will be licking his lips at facing a Championship defence on Saturday.

The 37-year-old has two goals to his name in five career appearances against QPR, and leads the way for this Leicester side in terms of shots taken (30), as well as shots on target (13).

Vardy is also the club's top goalscorer this term, so if Leicester are to get on the scoresheet this weekend, I imagine it'll be through their iconic number nine.
