Charlton vs Ipswich Prediction: Can Tractor Boys get back on track?

Ipswich Town rescued a draw late on against Middlesbrough at Portman Road on Sunday as they converted a late penalty to draw 2-2. That leaves Town needing three wins from their final four games to confirm their return to the Premier League, but the pressure is on with Millwall and Southampton hunting them down.
Next up they travel to Charlton (19:45 BST, Sky Sports Football), and below you can find my Charlton vs Ipswich predictions featuring team news and more.

Team News
Will Mannion has performed well in goal for Charlton in Thomas Kaminski’s absence, but Nathan Jones now has a decision to make given his number one is back fit, and Mannion made an error that cost the Addicks all three points on Saturday.
Joe Rankin-Costello and Miles Leaburn may be called upon to get an out-of-form Charlton side back on track, but Matty Godden should keep his place having notched again against Sheffield Wednesday.
Kieran McKenna has plenty of options when it comes to rotating his side, with Jack Clarke pushing for a start ahead of Jaden Philogene. Dan Neil may be placed into the heart of midfield, while George Hirst should start ahead of Ivan Azon.
Charlton vs Ipswich Predicted Lineups
- Charlton - Mannion; Sichenje, Jones, Bell; Clarke, Docherty, Coady, Carey, Chambers; Dykes, Leaburn
- Ipswich - Walton; Furlong, O'Shea, Greaves, Davis; Matusiwa, Neil; McAteer, Nunez, Clarke; Hirst
Charlton are the underdogs at 4/1, while Ipswich are the 8/11 favourites to take the three points. That gives them an implied win probability of 58% and a draw is 13/5.
Over 2.5 goals can be backed at 1/1, BTTS is 10/11 and Hirst is the favourite to score first at 9/2.
Charlton vs Ipswich Stats
- Ipswich have 29 away points from 20 league games
- Ipswich need three wins to get promoted from their final four
- Jack Clarke has 15 league goals
Ipswich to win to nil @ 7/4
I’ve not been convinced by Ipswich over this last week. The defeat to Portsmouth was poor, and they were second-best for a lot of the game against Middlesbrough. When you add those two performances to the fact that they boast only the 10th-best away record, with 29 away points from 20 league games, this is a test.
However, the quality Ipswich have should be able to land them a win on the night given the fact that Charlton are in seriously poor form and are dropping dangerously close to the bottom three. They failed to beat Sheffield Wednesday last time out and are now winless in six. Although they’ve scored five goals during that time I do fancy Ipswich to secure an away shut-out, on their way to a vital three points.

Price Boost - Jack Clarke to score anytime @ 9/4
Too many good players can make it difficult for McKenna in some senses, but Clarke deserves to come back into the XI here having found the net from the spot. He’s now up to 15 Championship goals for the season and is Ipswich’s top scorer which is impressive, so he is going to be tough for Charlton to stop.
Given the Price Boost on offer from Betfred, I think it is worth taking advantage of this 9/4 shot.
