The Championship has reached its final two gameweeks, with Coventry City winning the title in midweek. Leicester City joined Sheffield Wednesday in League 1, and Oxford are on the brink of relegation after their own midweek defeat.

Below you can find my Championship Predictions along with Nick and Conor’s, as we gear up for the end of the campaign.

Simon's Championship Predictions - Gameweek 45

  • Leicester 0-2 Millwall @ 9/1
  • Charlton 0-1 Hull @ 15/2
  • Middlesbrough 2-0 Watford @ 15/2
  • West Brom 2-2 Ipswich @ 14/1
  • QPR 1-2 Derby @ 8/1
  • Sheff Utd 0-0 Preston @ 14/1
  • Birmingham 2-1 Bristol City @ 7/1
  • Oxford 1-0 Sheff Wed @ 5/1
  • Norwich 3-2 Swansea @ 20/1
  • Stoke 1-1 Portsmouth @ 11/2
  • Coventry 3-2 Wrexham @ 20/1

Odds correct at the time of publication

Leicester 0-2 Millwall @ 9/1

Relegated to League 1 ten years after winning the Premier League, Leicester’s fans are planning a boycott for their home game against Millwall. This isn’t a great environment for players who won’t be there next season, while Millwall are targeting a top-two finish. They should grab a third win in a row.

Nick: 1-3

Conor: 0-2

Charlton 0-1 Hull @ 15/2

Charlton are winless in seven and have slipped down to 21st in the league, six points above the drop zone. Hull meanwhile dropped out of the top six after only drawing at Leicester, and are winless in five. Two sides out of form, I’ll back the Tigers to edge it.

Nick: 1-2

Conor: 1-1

Middlesbrough 2-0 Watford @ 15/2

Boro finally ended their winless run with a 1-0 success over Sheffield Wednesday, and they have another kind fixture coming up this weekend. It looks like the top two are too far clear now, but trying to finish third or fourth and get a home leg second in the play-offs is important.

Boro should win this game, against a woeful Watford outfit, who have scored just two goals in their last six outings.

Nick: 2-1

Conor: 2-0

West Brom 2-2 Ipswich @ 14/1

Ipswich need two wins to get themselves back to the Premier League at the first time of asking, and they have three games to go. They turned things around against Charlton after conceding first, but they have struggled on the road on the whole.

West Brom have been in inspired form lately, are unbeaten in nine as they move away from the relegation zone. This should be an entertaining draw.

Nick: 0-3

Conor: 1-1

QPR 1-2 Derby @ 8/1

Derby still have a shot at the play-offs but they are four points off Wrexham with two to play. They lost to Norwich in midweek but have been in decent form, even though a play-off finish seems unlikely. QPR are winless in four and have lost their last two, so I’ll back an away win.

Nick: 2-2

Conor: 0-1

Sheff Utd 0-0 Preston @ 14/1

Nothing to say on this one. Two poor teams with nothing to play for. I’ll go for a drab 0-0.

Nick: 2-0

Conor: 2-1

Birmingham 2-1 Bristol City @ 7/1

Birmingham have shown some signs of life, picking up seven points from their last three games, while Bristol City drew 2-2 with high-flying Southampton in midweek. I will back Birmingham to win this one, as they look to finish the season strongly.

Nick: 3-1

Conor: 2-1

Oxford 1-0 Sheff Wed @ 5/1

Oxford have to win their final two games, and hope that Charlton lose their last two, so stay in the division. It’s tough to see that happening but I do think they will beat Sheffield Wednesday. Just. Narrow home win.

Nick: 2-0

Conor: 0-1

Oxford United vs Sheffield Wednesday - Correct Score
Oxford United 1-0

Odds correct at time of publishing.

Norwich 3-2 Swansea @ 20/1

Norwich have been brilliant since Philippe Clement came in and they have been entertaining recently as well, beating Bristol City 4-2 and Derby 2-1. Their form is exceptional and I’ll back them to beat a dangerous Swansea side at home, with another goal-fest likely.

Nick: 4-2

Conor: 2-1

Stoke 1-1 Portsmouth @ 11/2

Stoke’s form is really poor and they now sit 17th, while Portsmouth were hammered 5-1 by champions Coventry but secured their Championship status thanks to other midweek results. I’m not sure how both sides will approach this dead rubber, so I’ll back a 1-1.

Nick: 3-0

Conor: 0-1

Coventry 3-2 Wrexham @ 20/1

We finish with Sunday’s fixture which will see Coventry awarded the Championship title. They’ve been partying and have a tough game to play against play-off chasing Wrexham, but it should be a celebration at the CBS, so I’ll go for an entertaining home win.

Nick: 2-4

Conor: 1-2

Coventry City vs Wrexham - Correct Score
Coventry City 3-2
