Emil Krafth (knee), Valentino Livramento, Jacob Murphy, Jamaal Lascelles (all muscle) and Fabian Schar (ankle) are expected to miss out for Newcastle, but Dan Burn (chest) and William Osula (ankle) are back in training and have chances of making the squad on Wednesday.

Newcastle possess plenty of players who are proficient at drawing fouls, including starting midfield trio Sandro Tonali, Bruno Guimaraes and Joelinton, who are averaging 2.2, 1.8 and 0.9 fouls won per 90, respectively, in this season’s Champions League.

Reserve midfielders Jacob Ramsey and Joe Willock, who have only started one game apiece in Europe this season, making a further three and two substitute appearances, respectively, have won five fouls between them (Ramsey - three, Willock - two).
