Sweden and the Netherlands both made unbeaten starts to the 2026 FIFA World Cup, but the former were the only winners from the first round of Group F fixtures. The two teams face off against each other at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas on Saturday (12pm local, 6pm BST, BBC One) for the first time since October 2017, when the Dutch triumphed 2-0 in a World Cup qualifier in Amsterdam thanks to an Arjen Robben brace.

Below are my Netherlands vs Sweden Bet Builder Tips as I combine four legs for a 15/1 payout.

Both Teams To Score - Yes

This was a winning selection in both Group F games last week, with the Netherlands drawing 2-2 with Japan and Sweden thrashing Tunisia 5-1.

Sweden, arguably, boast the better attack, with Viktor Gyokeres and Alexander Isak, who cost nearly £200m combined when they transferred to Arsenal and Liverpool, respectively, last summer, leading the line for Graham Potter's side, but the Netherlands' front three of Crysencio Summerville, Donyell Malen and Cody Gakpo isn't to be sniffed at, either.

De Oranje are much stronger at the back with Denzel Dumfries, Jan Paul van Hecke, Virgil van Dijk and Micky van de Ven a formidable four in front of Bart Verbruggen, but Ronald Koeman's men have only kept one clean sheet in five games this calendar year, with BTTS-Yes striking in four.

Sweden, meanwhile, haven't recorded a shutout in any of their five matches in 2026, with both teams scoring in all five, and that run stretches back to last November as BTTS-Yes has landed in their last seven.

Player 2+ Shots (Sub Switch) - Yasin Ayari (SWE)

Sweden midfielder Yasin Ayari's confidence should be sky-high after his long-distance brace against Tunisia last week.

The 22-year-old shot twice in a couple of Sweden's World Cup qualifiers last year, scoring once, and in the 2025/26 Premier League campaign, he averaged 1.9 shots per 90 for Brighton.

Ayari isn't afraid to pull the trigger, making him a solid selection for at least two shots on Saturday.

Netherlands vs Sweden Odds

Player 1+ Shots (Sub Switch) - Virgil van Dijk (NED)

Captain Virgil van Dijk opened the scoring in the Netherlands' score draw with Japan last week, expertly guiding in a header from his Liverpool teammate, Ryan Gravenberch.

The 34-year-old averaged 0.8 shots per game in the 2025/26 Premier League season for the Reds and averaged 1.2 shots per game in World Cup qualifying, recording at least one effort in five of his eight appearances.

A third (two) of the six shots Sweden conceded to Tunisia came from centre-backs, with Montassar Talbi heading wide from a corner in the 15th minute and Omar Rekik scoring with a header in the 43rd minute.

Player 2+ Fouls (Sub Switch) - Victor Lindelof (SWE)

Sweden skipper Victor Lindelof committed two fouls in the Blagult's opening Group F game, and he could be kept busy on Saturday by the Netherlands' flying right winger, Summerville, who was upended three times against Japan.

A couple of Japanese centre backs, left-sided Hiroki Ito and right-sided Tsuyoshi Watanabe, were pulled up once apiece for fouling Summerville, who is likely to spend most of his time patrolling De Oranje's right-hand side, coming up against Sweden's left-sided centre back Lindelof.

Summerville averaged 2.2 fouls won per game for West Ham United in the 2025/25 Premier League season and is a tricky customer to deal with for most defenders.
