Team News

New Besiktas manager Vincenzo Italiano should pick his strongest XI for this first competitive game of the season. Captain Orkan Kokcu should feature but El Bilal Toure and Cengiz Under have left after loan spells, so there are opportunities in the attacking quartet, with teenager Mustafa Hekimoglu a shout to start up front.

Midtjylland boss Mike Tullberg may give Friday Etim the nod up front after his recent brace in a friendly. Philip Billing should start as the key man in midfield, while Franculino will try and make an impact in the final third.

Double Chance - Midtjylland or Draw @ 8/11

Besiktas finished fourth in Turkey and this side have added Leandro Trossard to their ranks which is a side of their power at this moment in time. However, Midtjylland have proven themselves to be a very capable unit and could get at least a draw. Trossard is unlikely to feature given his exploits at the World Cup and so I think the Danes have a real chance.

They slipped up as they finished second in their domestic league, but this is a side with plenty of European experience. They reached the round-of-16 in this competition last year before losing to Nottingham Forest on penalties, and I’d back them to avoid defeat in Turkey.

Franculino to score anytime @ 15/8

Franculino has been superb for Midtjylland in recent seasons, and last season he bagged an incredible 17 goals in 21 league games while he bagged 22 in all competitions, his best ever return in his career.

Still only 22, he is improving with every passing season and I think he could have a breakout year on the European stage, or even find a big move elsewhere in Europe. He is a good price to find the net against Besiktas.
