Kairat vs Club Brugge Prediction: Tzolis to make mincemeat of Mrynskiy

After picking up just a single point from their first six games, Kairat Almaty sit at the bottom (36th) of the Uefa Champions League league phase standings heading into Tuesday's fixture with Club Brugge (15:30 GMT, TNT Sports) at Almaty Central Stadium. Their Belgian counterparts, meanwhile, are in 31st on four points, but two wins from their last two contests would give them a chance of qualifying for the play-offs.
Below are my Kairat vs Club Brugge predictions, supported by all the latest team news and match odds.

Team News
Seventeen-year-old Kairat forward Dastan Satpayev, who will join Chelsea after turning 18 in August, is free to return after serving a suspension in his side's last European match, a 1-0 home defeat to Olympiakos on December 9.
Brazilian centre-back Lucas Africo joined the two-time Kazakhstan Premier League defending champions earlier this month, but he's not eligible to feature in the league phase, while Azamat Tuyakbaev is expected to miss out with a chest injury.
As for Club Brugge, former Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet, who hasn't featured since the Belgian side's 1-0 home defeat to Antwerp on November 30, is set to miss out again with an abdominal strain.
Lynnt Audoor (muscle) and Nordin Jackers (unspecified) are likely sidelined, too, while the game may come too soon for Raphael Onyedika, who started Nigeria's third-place play-off victory over Egypt in Morocco on Saturday.
Kairat vs Club Brugge Predicted Lineups
- Kairat: Anarbekov; Mata, Sorokin, Martynovich, Tapalov; Kasabulat, Glazer, Gromyko, Ricardinho, Satpayev, Edmilson
- Club Brugge: Van den Heuvel; Sabbe, Ordonez, Mechele, Seys; Vanaken, Stankovic, Tzolis, Vetlesen, Tresoldi, Diakhon
Kairat, yet to win a league-phase game this season, are 4/1, or a 20% chance, to pick up all three points on Tuesday, with Club Brugge, one of three clubs without a point on their travels, 4/7 (63.6%) to claim victory in Kazakhstan, while the draw is offered at 7/2.
Kairat vs Club Brugge Stats
- Gromyko (KAI) is averaging two shots p/g in 25/26 UCL league phase
- Mrynskiy (KAI) has committed a foul in four of his six league-phase matches
- Right-backs White (ARS) & Kounde (FCB) have been booked for fouling Tzolis (CLB) in the league phase
Bet Builder - Valeri Gromyko (KAI) 2+ Total Shots & Aleksandr Mrynskiy (KAI) 1+ Fouls @ 13/8
Kairat midfielder Valeri Gromyko is averaging two shots per game in the league phase of the 2025/26 Uefa Champions League.
The 28-year-old has recorded 12 shots across six appearances (five starts), eight of which have come in two starts at home against Real Madrid (three) and Pafos (five). In his third and most recent home outing against Olympiakos, he only came off the bench at the start of the second half and still managed to register a shot.
Gromyko is expected to line up on the right-hand side of Kairat's midfield, and behind the Belarus international, Aleksandr Mrynskiy is likely to get the nod at right-back, having started all six of Kairat's league-phase games so far in that position.
The 21-year-old has committed four fouls across his six matches, recording one against Sporting CP, Pafos, FC Copenhagen and Olympiakos, and on Tuesday, he will be tasked with containing Club Brugge winger Christos Tzolis, who is averaging 1.2 fouls won per game in this season's Champions League.
Arsenal right-back Ben White was booked for upending the Greece international in Club Brugge's last European outing, following the footsteps of FC Barcelona right-back Jules Kounde earlier in the campaign.
Atalanta's right-sided centre-back Odilon Kossounou and AS Monaco right-back Vanderson (three) have also fouled the 23-year-old in Europe this season, as well as Monaco midfielder Lamine Camara.
Player to Receive a Card - Alexsandr Mrynskiy (KAI) @ 18/5
Bearing in mind my previous comments on Mrynskiy and Tzolis, we can go further with this second selection and back the Kazakhstan U21 international to be booked in Almaty.
The 21-year-old has received three yellows in 14 European appearances, including qualifiers, this season, with his sole league-phase card so far coming in Kairat's 3-2 defeat in Denmark to Copenhagen on November 26 for a foul on the home side's left-sided midfielder, Mohamed Elyounoussi.
Tzolis, of course, has lured two high-calibre right-backs, White and Kounde, into making yellow-card challenges in the Champions League this term, and it wouldn't be a surprise to see him add Mrynskiy to his victim list on Tuesday.
