Bournemouth wolves betting tips

Wolves won 1-0 at Bournemouth in the Premier League last weekend and with both teams subsequently losing 2-1 in midweek, they can switch their focus to FA Cup matters when they meet in the fifth round on Saturday (15:00).

Below are my Bournemouth vs Wolves predictions, alongside all the latest team news and match odds.

Bournemouth vs Wolves Betting Tips

  • Wolves to win @ 7/2
  • Matheus Cunha to score @ 2/1

The Cherries have beaten West Bromwich Albion 5-1 and Everton 2-0 to match last season's run to this stage, which ended with a 1-0 aet loss to Leicester City.

Wolves have won 2-1 at Bristol City and 2-0 at Blackburn Rovers and might feel they owe this competition after losing 3-2 at home to Coventry City in the 2023/24 quarter-finals.

As has been the case over the last seven days, Vitor Pereira's men might be better suited to playing on the road and could make it through the last eight of the FA Cup for the second straight season.

Team News

Mark Travers' loan to Middlesbrough means Bournemouth may buck the trend and stick with their first-choice goalkeeper, Kepa Arrizabalaga, with Will Dennis again having to settle for a spot on the bench.

Daniel Jebbison could lead the line and might be joined in attack by Evanilson, who returned after almost two months out in the midweek defeat at Brighton.

Football Odds

Unlike their opponents, Wolves could make a change in goal, with Sam Johnstone replacing Jose Sa.

Jorgen Strand Larsen is also a contender to start up front after returning off the bench last week against the Cherries and making another substitute appearance in the defeat to Fulham.

Bournemouth vs Wolves Odds

Bournemouth are 8/11 to win the game, implying a 57.9% probability with the draw, which would force extra time, available at 16/5. A Wolves victory can be backed at 7/2 (22.2%)

The hosts are 4/11 to qualify for the quarter-finals, with the visitors 2/1.

Wolves to win @ 7/2

Bournemouth had lost just once in 15 games before last weekend's defeat to Wolves but followed that up with another loss against Brighton.

They won the shot count and had more possession at The Amex but they failed to convert and Andoni Iraola may look to rotate for this game with fatigue potentially impacting his side.

Having Evanilson and a few others back will also help the Cherries' European push and this game may not be a bad one to lose if they are aiming to focus on the league.

That could benefit Wolves, who, despite sitting 17th in the Premier League, look too good to go down.

They struggled to gel in Tuesday's defeat to Fulham, conceding early goals in both halves, but Pereira is the type of coach that can get a response and they could follow up last week's win with a repeat performance.

Matheus Cunha to score @ 2/1

Matheus Cunha's winner at the Vitality marked the fourth game in a row that he had scored, but things didn't work for him against Fulham, with the ball failing to fall his way and him struggling to maintain his composure.

A speedy return to the Vitality Stadium might bring the best out of him, and having scored in the last round against Blackburn, he will want to start.

Playing off Strand Larsen should also suit Cunha and provide additional space for him to drift into goalscoring areas.
