Bournemouth vs man city

Bournemouth welcome Manchester City to the Vitality Stadium on Sunday afternoon (16:30, live on ITV) for a mouth-watering FA Cup quarter-final clash.

The Cherries are just four points behind City in the Premier League table and beat Wolverhampton Wanderers on penalties to make it to this stage, while the visitors survived a scare against Plymouth Argyle to prevail 3-1. Read on for my Bournemouth vs Manchester City predictions, as well as the latest team news and match odds.

Team News

Milos Kerkez and Dean Huijsen are both suspended for the hosts on account of picking up two yellow cards in this season's FA Cup.

The likes of Adam Smith, Julian Araujo, Luis Sinisterra and Enes Unal remain sidelined through injury but Marcos Senesi is fit again and should return to the squad on Sunday.

Bournemouth vs Manchester City Stats

  • Bournemouth beat Manchester City when the sides met at the Vitality Stadium back in November
  • City have lost four of their last six away trips

As for City, Rodri, John Stones, Manuel Akanji and Nathan Ake remain long-term absentees, but first-choice goalkeeper Ederson is set to be available for Sunday's contest.

Similarly, the injury that Josko Gvardiol suffered on international duty with Croatia doesn't appear to be serious, and the defender is likely to feature at the Vitality.

Bournemouth vs Manchester City Odds

Bournemouth are 15/8 to win in 90 minutes, giving them an implied win probability of 34.8%, while City are 11/8 and a draw is available to back at 11/4.

The Cherries are 1/1 to win the tie and advance to the semi-finals, and Pep Guardiola's men are 8/11 to do the same.

Bournemouth to win tie @ 1/1

As mentioned above, Bournemouth got the better of City in the side's Premier League encounter in November.

Guardiola's side were unbeaten in 32 top-flight matches before their 2-1 defeat at the Vitality Stadium and City won't be feeling extremely confident as they've tasted defeat in four of their last six away matches.

Andoni Iraola’s men have faltered in the race for Europe after failing to win each of their last five matches, but they may see the FA Cup as the best chance to secure continental football on the south coast for next season.

The FA Cup is also City's only chance of lifting silverware this year, so this should be an entertaining affair - but I'm backing the Cherries to come out on top.

Justin Kluivert to score anytime @ 7/4

Justin Kluivert is Bournemouth’s leading goalscorer this season with 13, a dozen coming in the league and the other being his side’s opening goal in the 5-1 victory over West Bromwich Albion in round three of the FA Cup.

He's also the Cherries' designated penalty taker, and he's scored six spot-kicks this term - including hat-trick of spot-kicks in the 4-2 win at Wolves.

At 7/4, I think the Dutchman is a decent price to find the back of the net anytime on Sunday.
