Aston Villa vs Tottenham Hotspur Bet Builder Tips: New signings to prosper at Villa Park

There's an all-Premier League affair to round off Sunday's FA Cup action as Aston Villa host Tottenham Hotspur at Villa Park (17:35, BBC One). Both sides suffered defeat in their last game as Villa lost 2-0 at Wolves in the league last Saturday, while Spurs were thrashed 4-0 at Liverpool in the second leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final tie on Thursday, exiting the competition 4-1 on aggregate.
Unai Emery and Ange Postecoglou each have the opportunity to right the wrongs of last time out this weekend and book their respective clubs into the fifth round of England's premier cup competition. Below are my Aston Villa vs Tottenham Hotspur Bet Builder tips as I serve up a 40/1 fourfold, backing a player on either side to ripple the net.

Aston Villa vs Tottenham Hotspur Odds
Lucas Bergvall (TOT) Carded
Tottenham midfielder Lucas Bergvall has begun his side's last two games on the bench, appearing as a second-half substitute against Brentford and Liverpool following a punishing run of five starts in 16 days, playing the full 90 in all five.
A bit of rest will have done the 19-year-old some good and with a midfield three of Pape Matar Sarr, Rodrigo Bentancur and Yves Bissouma shrinking under the bright lights of Anfield in midweek, Bergvall should be reinstated to Postecoglou's starting XI on Sunday.
Should the Swede start, he's an obvious candidate in the player card market as he has been booked in three of his last six starts, the last of which came against Elfsborg on January 30 and brought up his seventh caution of the campaign.
Bergvall was also booked in four consecutive games in December, despite only starting one of those contests.
Donyell Malen (AVL) Anytime Goalscorer
One of Aston Villa's newest recruits, Donyell Malen, who joined the club last month from German giants Borussia Dortmund, was cruelly denied a first goal in claret and blue last weekend as his strike at Molineux was ruled out due to another player supposedly interfering with play in an offside position.
That was just the Dutchman's second appearance for the Villans, and with Ollie Watkins injured and Jhon Duran sold to Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia, he should be handed his first start on Sunday.
Malen endured a difficult half-season at Dortmund before moving back to England, where he previously spent time with Tottenham's north London rivals Arsenal, but he still scored five times in 21 appearances and hit 13 Bundesliga goals in 2023/24.
At Villa Park this weekend, the 26-year-old will face an injury-hit Spurs side decimated in defence with Destiny Udogie, Cristian Romero and possibly Micky van de Ven all sidelined. He certainly looks a good bet to grab his first goal for the Midlands club.
Mathys Tel (TOT) Anytime Goalscorer
Also hoping to open his account for his new club is Spurs' Mathys Tel, who joined on loan from Bayern Munich on deadline day. The Frenchman made his debut in Thursday's defeat at Anfield, coming on just before half-time for Richarlison, who is set to miss Sunday's match through injury.
With first-choice striker Dominic Solanke also ruled out, Tel looks certain to start at Villa Park on Sunday, and just as Spurs have had issues in defence, so too have Villa, who have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last five games, conceding eight goals in that run. Emery's side are also missing Pau Torres, Tyrone Mings and Matty Cash for the visit of Spurs, so Tel could profit this weekend.
Aston Villa or Draw (Double Chance)
I'm backing both teams to score, but I would be surprised if Spurs were to win this tie, especially in regulation time. Okay, Postecoglou's side have won three of their last five matches, but two were in the Europa League, one against Elfsborg and the other against a struggling Hoffenheim outfit.
A 2-0 win at Brentford was impressive, but they went down without a fight at Anfield on Thursday and will struggle to overcome a Villa team that is unbeaten in their last 10 games on home soil.
I fancy Villa to progress to the fifth round, but adding double chance adds an insurance policy into what is already a big bet with long odds.
