Weekend Football Tips: Jamie’s Cross-European Treble for 2/3 May

Saturday 2nd May 2026, 7:51

Our European treble takes in matches from Serie A, Ligue 1 and the Portuguese Premeira Liga this week as Jamie looks to get back to winning ways after a frustrating couple of weeks, although the season-long profit remains strong.

He likes PSG to have a strong day, thinks Porto will get the job done but doesn't think spectators at the Stadio Renato Dall'Ara are going to have an entertaining Sunday lunchtime...

Weekend Football Tips

  • PSG vs Lorient - PSG to win and over 1,5 Goals @ 1/2
  • Bologna v Cagliari - ‘No’ on Both Teams to Score’ @ 8/11
  • Porto v Alverca - Back Porto to win and under 4,5 goals @ 8/15
  • Treble Odds @ 3/1

*Odds correct as of the time of publication

Last year, the 3-3-3 column returned a profit of 17 points, which means that if you'd backed every treble recommended over the course of the season for level £10 stakes, you'd be up by £170. That's one of the better returns you'll see in the tipping business and speaking of returns, Jamie Pacheco is returning again this year to do try to do it all over again, and maybe even improve on it.

Welcome to the 3-3-3 betting column. Why is it called that? Glad you asked.  It's not a formation to play when you've had a man sent off but rather:

3- The number of different selections making up the acca.

3- The number of different (non-English) European Leagues the selections are taken from every week.

3- The minimum odds (3/1) or 4.0 if you prefer, that the acca will come to it every week.

And it really is as simple as that. The selections can be from any betting markets, as long as they meet the criteria set out above.  And to round things off, every week I'll leave you with a cool (or at least I think so) bit of trivia involving one of the teams featured in the acca. Simples...

2025-26 season Current P and L: +20.5 pts

2024-25 season's P and L: + 16.9

A frustrating week once again, where we got 2/3, and with the first selection going wrong with the Barcelona game not getting the three goals that we needed them to. But if it's any consolation, maybe not, we've been nailing the long shots at odds against.

  • PSG v Lorient
  • Saturday, May 2, 16.00
  • Back PSG to win and Over 1.5 Goals @ 1/2

That PSG match against Bayern in midweek was one of the best I've ever seen in any context, so fair play to PSG for providing it.

But this should be pretty easy for PSG by their standards; they really should win this, and the stats suggest there should be goals, so that's what we're going with here.

After all, they're the best side in the division, but they do concede a few goals…

  • Porto v Alverca
  • Saturday, May 2, 20.30
  • Back Porto to win and under 4.5 goals @ 8/15

Porto have been good to us these last few weeks, so there's value in persisting with them.

They may not be the attacking force you'd expect from a table-topping side, but they have a habit of getting over the line one way or another.

So rather than going with them just to win, we can find better odds in them winning but with a small margin.

So that means that Porto to win with under 4.5 goals is a lively runner here at 8/15, which looks pretty solid given that Porto tend to crawl to their wins rather than bossing teams.

  • Bologna v Cagliari
  • Sunday, May 3, 11.30
  • Back 'No' on Both Teams to Score @ 8/11

An early kick-off here, but no matter.

There are really good stats here suggesting that 'no' is the way to go on the BTTs front, such as the fact that, remarkably, 70% of Bologna's home games have gone that way this season in terms of no on the BTSS front.

Including six of the last seven at home. So given Bologna's tendency for low-scoring games here, hopefully we should be ok.

James's Fun Fact

Despite spending less on headline stars than in previous years, PSG actually became more consistent and harder to beat, showing that a strong system can outperform even the biggest names.

But let's see how they get on against Bayern next week!
