Grimsby (A) to beat Salford (7:15pm BST) @ 2/1
Grimsby lost the first leg of their tie with Salford 2-1, so they will have to win in the north west to stand any chance of reaching Wembley. Fortunately for them, David Artell’s away record with this side is very good, and they’ve won three of their last five on the road.
They have also already beaten Salford 2-0 on the road this season, so it wouldn’t surprise me if they get the win and either force extra-time, or make it all the way to Wembley.
Hamilton (H) to beat Clyde @ (7:45pm BST) @ 6/5
Hamilton face the second leg of their relegation play-off with Clyde, who finished third in League 2 up in Scotland. Hamilton, finished second-bottom in Leaue 1 but drew the first leg 1-1 away and now just need to beat the team from the lower division to stay up.
I think they will get the job done, given they won three of their last four matches in the regular season and are only in this position because they have been docked a remarkable 21 points this term. They would have finished third without those deductions, so it seems unlikely that they will slip up at home.
Aston Villa vs Liverpool - Draw (8pm BST) @ 12/5
Both teams would probably take a point as they look to secure top-five finishes in the Premier League, and with a Europa League final to come on Wednesday, Aston Villa may not go all-out for the win.
A point apiece would mean that Bournemouth need to win both of their final two fixtures to stand a chance at overhauling them, including a home game against Manchester City on Tuesday. A point each should therefore be enough to satisfy both managers.
Chesterfield (A) to beat Notts County (8pm BST) @ 2/1
The other League 2 play-off semi-final begins at 8pm and Notts County will hope to make it to Wembley as they take a one-goal advantage back to Meadow Lane. However, Chesterfield dominated the first leg, winning the xG battle 1.45 to 0.28, and so I believe they can force extra-time at the very least in this away leg.
Partick Thistle vs Dunfermline - Draw (8pm BST) @ 12/5
Finally, we finish back up in Scotland as Partick Thistle and Dunfermline battle it out for a spot in the play-off final. The hosts can’t stop drawing games at the moment, having drawn their last four outings, and five of their last six in total.
That includes the 1-1 in the first leg, which leads me to believe that we will probably need extra-time to come up with a winner at Firhill.
