Football Accumulator Tips: 9/1 acca for Friday’s action

It is a busy Friday of football action with the headline act being the World Cup quarter-final between Spain and Belgium. With matches taking place across the globe, I have a five-team acca for punters to consider.

Spain (N) to beat Belgium @ 8/13

Spain were rock-solid defensively when controlling Portugal in a 1-0 last-16 victory, and while that win came from a late Mikel Merino strike, La Roja were good value for the success.

Luis de la Fuente’s men conceded only two shots on target and an expected goals tally of just 0.63 against a top-level Portugal side and Spain have not allowed a single goal in five World Cup matches.

Belgium produced their best effort of the tournament when beating USA 4-1 in the last 16, but the Red Devils were mighty fortunate to progress past Senegal in the last 32 and they failed to beat Egypt and Iran in the group stage.

Rudi Garcia’s side now face their toughest test of the tournament and it looks a step too far for Belgium.

VPS (H) to beat SJK @ 1/1

VPS thumped Mariehamn 4-0 last weekend and Vaasa can continue to make progress up the Veikkausliiga table when they meet SJK.

Jussi Nuorela's men are unbeaten in seven home league matches this season, conceding only six goals, and they can account for an SJK side who have just three wins in 10 games.

Dundalk to beat Drogheda @ 4/7

It is two defeats on the bounce for Dundalk, but the Lilywhites have hit 37 efforts on goal in narrow defeats to Waterford and Shelbourne and they should get back to winning ways against Drogheda.

The Drogs are now eight League of Ireland games without success and another poor result awaits at Oriel Park.

St. Patrick's Athletic (A) to beat Waterford FC @ 8/15

Waterford have won only four of 23 League of Ireland matches this season - they are only off the bottom of the table on goal difference - and the Blues are unlikely to hold off St Patrick’s.

The visitors hit 24 efforts on goal when hammering Galway 3-0 last time out and another comfortable success is on the cards.

Cork City FC to beat Longford Town @ 3/10

Cork City have a lead of 18 points at the top of the Irish First Division and the Rebel Army have won nine league games on the bounce.

Longford have won only one of their 11 away league games and they are unlikely to snap Cork’s impressive run of form.
