Como (A) to beat Sassuolo (17:30) @ 7/10

Let’s start over in Italy where Sassuolo host Como in Serie A. Como sit fifth, two points behind Juventus in the race for the Champions League, while Sassuolo are down in 11th.

The hosts’ form is hit and miss, they’ve lost three of their last five and will be without Domenico Berardi after he was sent off for fighting in the tunnel last time out. Como also lost their last match, but it was a narrow 4-3 defeat to probable champions Inter Milan.

Cesc Fabregas’ side should have too much for the Neroverdi.

Konyaspor (A) to beat Antalyaspor (18:00) @ 6/5

Our European tour heads to Turkiye next, and I’m keen to back in-form Konyaspor to land another win. They sit 10th, but are unbeaten in their last six games in all competitions, winning three of their last four in the league.

They travel to Antalyaspor, who have won just two of their last 11 in all competitions as they slide dangerously close to the relegation zone. Away win looks to be a good price.

Lens (H) to beat Toulouse (19:45) @ 8/15

Lens remain just four points behind PSG in the race for the Ligue 1 title, but it does look unlikely that Pierre Sage’s men will overhaul the European giants. Lens have lost two of their last three, but both defeats have come on the road, and their home form remains the best in the league.

Twelve home wins from 14 have led them on this unexpected run towards the top of the table, and they should be able to beat 10th-placed Toulouse, given they have lost their last two.

Coventry (A) to beat Blackburn (20:00) @ 1/1

Coventry are just one point away from the Premier League, and after Ipswich’s midweek defeat at Portsmouth, six points away from winning the Championship. Seven thousand Coventry fans will make the journey to Ewood Park and will be desperate to roar their side onto the point they need.

I think the Sky Blues can get all three, because despite Blackburn’s upturn in form under Michael O’Neill, they have had bad fortune in terms of the fixture list. Their rearranged fixture with Southampton was played on Tuesday night, they lost 3-0, and now they have to recover for a Friday night home game.

With 10+ injuries, the hosts have a big task on their hands to stop the likely champions.

Rio Ave (H) to beat AVS (20:45) @ 4/6

We finish in Portugal, where Rio Ave host AVS. The hosts were in relegation danger but have found some wonderful form, four wins in their last five, to take them well clear of the bottom two and up to 11th.

The same cannot be said for AVS. They sit bottom of the table having won just once in 29 league matches this season. Twelve points all season is woeful, and they are being talked about as one of the worst top-flight teams this millennium. Rio Ave should win this one in style.
