QPR vs Preston

QPR have been in relegation danger all season but have managed to pull themselves out of the drop zone under Marti Cifuentes.

The R’s are still just three points above the bottom three so can take nothing for granted when they host Preston, whose hopes of a play-off spot are all-but over after back-to-back defeats. Here we pick out the best bets for Saturday’s Championship clash, kicking off at 17:15, live on Sky Sports.

QPR vs Preston Betting Tips

  • Under 1.5 goals @ 2/1
  • Over 37.5 booking points @ 5/6

Team News

Taylor Richards, Rayan Kolli and Michael Frey are all expected to miss out for QPR, who may chop and change following their disappointing 3-0 defeat to Hull last time out.

Ben Whiteman and Brad Potts have been joined in the treatment room by Ali McCann, but Liam Miller has returned to fitness and could play some part in the game.

Ryan Ledson and Alan Browne could also feature as they are eased back from injury.

Match Odds

QPR can be backed at 10/11 for the victory, while Preston are 16/5 outsiders and the draw is available at 12/5

Over 2.5 goals is on offer at 11/10, while both teams to score is priced at 10/11 and it is 9/4 for over 1.5 goals in the first half.

Under 1.5 goals @ 2/1

Preston’s season has petered out, winning just one of their last five Championship games as they limp towards the end of their campaign.

North End shaped as if a play-off run could be on the cards but those dreams are gone after back-to-back defeats to Norwich and Southampton.

Goals have been a real issue for Ryan Lowe’s men recently, they have failed to net in four of their last five games, and three of their last four away games have gone under 1.5 goals.

Only the bottom two have scored fewer goals than QPR’s 40 this season and they look unlikely to put on a high-scoring match here.

Side with under 1.5 goals in what may well be a cagey affair given the connotations for the hosts.

Under 1.5 goals at 2/1

Over 37.5 booking points @ 5/6

Preston have one of the worst disciplinary records in the Championship this season, they have been shown 99 yellows and one red to date.

Teams tend to be shown plenty of cautions against QPR too, their opponents have received 98 bookings and four red cards against them across this season.

The line of 37.5 booking points looks achievable.

Over 37.5 booking points at 5/6
