The semi-finals of the Champions League have arrived and we’ve got a belter of a clash coming our way on Wednesday night (20:00, TNT Sports 1). Borussia Dortmund, having turned their quarter-final tie around against Atletico Madrid, now host Paris Saint-Germain for the place in the final.

With the first leg taking place in front of the Yellow Wall in Germany, we are bound to see a cracking atmosphere - but will it be one that PSG can cope with? The French giants are still on the hunt for their first Champions League triumph, having lost the final to Bayern Munich in 2020. We could see a repeat of that final at Wembley this year, or will Dortmund reach the biggest stage in club football, just as they did under the famous arch in 2013?

Below you can find my Borussia Dortmund vs PSG Bet Builder Tips as we look for a big winner in this gargantuan match-up.

PSG to win and BTTS

I like Dortmund, I really do - but I feel they could just lose out in this first leg. They were terrific in the second leg against Atletico Madrid to complete that turnaround, however, I think they could seriously struggle against PSG’s pace on the counter-attack. Nico Schlotterbeck and Mats Hummels are both good centre-backs, but the latter could be caught out in terms of pace.

I think there will be plenty of goalmouth action in this game, and am backing both teams to find the net. Both teams scored in both legs of their quarter-final matches with PSG looking less-than-convincing from a defensive perspective against Barcelona. With high-scoring matches recently, goals shouldn’t be a problem at both ends, but I’m leaning towards the French champions to secure a vital away win. Just.

Kylian Mbappe to score

If we believe PSG will score at least twice, it makes perfect sense in my eyes to back Mbappe to get at least one of them. He needs no introduction of course, and the best player in the world in my humble opinion, has now scored 43 goals in 44 matches. He’s a machine, and will surely play a big part in this tie.

Away goals are no longer a thing in European competition, but securing a win on the road will put the Parisians in pole position to qualify for the final. I believe Mbappe will find the net at Signal Iduna Park.

Achraf Hakimi and Mats Hummels to be carded

A couple of yellows to round off our 33/1 shot here. I’m of the belief that this could be a feisty affair, with both teams up for the fight. Anthony Taylor is the man in the middle, and the Englishman showed six yellow cards in PSG's first-leg defeat to Barcelona. He will flash the yellows to gain control of this tie, so I’ve picked out two likely candidates for a booking.

I'm slightly worried by Hummels’ lack of pace against PSG. Mbappe is going to run beyond him at one point, and it would surprise me if he is booked for a shirt pull, running back towards his own goal. The experienced German has already been booked six times this season, twice in the Champions League, and I think he will add to that tally here.

The other selection is Hakimi, who could be in for a tough night up against Dortmund’s dynamic wingers. Jadon Sancho and Karim Adeyemi are so tough to stop and even with his pace, the Moroccan is likely to get caught out. He’s picked up three bookings in Europe alone this season, so is also a sensible selection.
