Team News:
India:
A brilliant 112 not out from KL Rahul wasn't enough to give India a score they could defend, and so it proved.
It's a bit of a worry for them that they couldn't defend that total but then again, we should remember that they are without their best bowler in Jasprit Bumrah.
That said, 284 wasn't the worst of scores first up and were it not for Daryl Mitchell's excellent knock, it may have been a very different story.
Prasidh Krishna was just about the pick of the bowlers with 1-49, but it really wasn't a great effort with the ball, so that's certainly an area India needs to address.
Washington Sundar has been ruled out of this ODI Series due to injury and the T20 Series that follows.
New Zealand
New Zealand's win was a good result for the neutral, who would want this series to be a competitive one.
More importantly, it was a good result for us because we had them at 9/2 to win the game, and they did.
Our rationale there was very simple: they were a huge price for a team that is always competitive and that on another day, could have well won that first game.
We shouldn't expect many changes in personnel here. Daryl Mitchell and Krystian Clarke were the stand-out players with bat and ball respectively, but as ever with the Kiwis, it's a team effort.
India vs New Zealand 3rd ODI Predicted Lineups
- India: Gill, Rohit Sharma, Kohli, Iyer, Rahul, Jadeja, Badoni, Rana, Prasidh, Kuldeep, Siraj.
- New Zealand: Conway, Nicholls, Young, Mitchell, Phillips, Hay, Bracewell, Foulkes, Jamieson, Clarke, Lennox.
Pitch and conditions
Played six, won six at Indore. India obviously loves it here at Indore, having won all of their games here, the last two of which were wins over New Zealand and Australia in 2023, the last two matches staged here.
Big runs could be on the board, given that 395 and 399 were the scores India posted here in their last two efforts at Indore. The forecast is good.
Match Winner odds.
India is 1/4 to win this one. New Zealand are 11/4, the same price as they were ahead of the 2nd ODI, which, as we know, they won.
You could make a case for the Kiwis at 11/4, and that's not a bad bet given the circumstances, but we've cashed in on them already, so I'm not sure we should go in them again.
Best leave this market alone, then.

New Zealand Top Bowler
Kyle Jamieson had a somewhat quiet game by his standards in the second match, with figures of 1-70, easily beaten by the 3-56 of Clarke,
But Jamieson is a class act who took 4-41 in the first match, has bowled plenty in the IPL, so knows Indian conditions very well, and often bowls at the death where wickets are taken, so should have every chance here.
This is a tricky match to call, but Jamieson is a consistent type and is one of the few selections we can be relatively confident about.
