Friday Greyhound Tips: Racing action from Swindon and Sunderland

Our resident greyhounds guru, Trap2Line, is back with a pair of fine fancies for your Friday. Swindon and Sunderland are under his watchful eye today as we look to close the week out with a brace of winners.

15:19 Swindon - T2 (Nancy-O) @ SP

This is our third start this afternoon and we have been running well, just getting tired late on in both of our races finishing second. This is as far as we want to go but I do think we will get an easy lead today. This dog can have enough in the tank to hold on off the last.

T1 had a recent downgrade in early October but since returning to this A7 hasn't really landed a blow. I still feel that this runner will be our danger as they will get a good tow into the race from us. If we again weaken late on this runner may pick us up.

T3 is better known as an A8 type and wins races in that grade for fun. Not so good when raised to this level and is 0/3 in A7 runs. Time wise has a bit to find with us and other runners in this contest. Not for me.

T4 is a very slow to go runner dropping through the grades and hasn't won since the start of October. That was in a handicap, but on the level has dropped down from A5 to this A7 grade. Back form is there but time wise we have a few lengths in hand on this runner.

T5 has a good draw on the outer with no T6 in the race. May lead on run up but be outpaced by us from first bend onwards. Similar comments to T3, wins for fun in A8 grade but struggles this high up the grading ladder and is 0/4 in A7.

So to us in T2, race sets up perfectly for us to lead T1 and T3 and rail T5 off at the bend, use our middle pace to go multiple lengths clear and have enough left to hold on from the fast finishing T1 and T4. Very confident of a big run.

This will be our English debut tonight but we have had six trials; three at Newcastle and three here. We are getting quicker and quicker each time we go to the traps, running a sub-27 seconds time last week. On paper we look to have a really good draw for this opening round and can get off to a perfect start with a win first time up in UK.

T1 has not raced here or been for a trial. This dog is better known as a sprinter or short four-bend runner. I don't think that this trip will suit. Good draw on the rails but this is a tough heat.

T2 has raced here a few times and arrives here in good form with wins at Pelaw recently. Similar running style to both T1 and T3 so may struggle to gain a clear passage tonight.

T3 will be edging across to the rails on the run up and can give us lots of space on his outside. Form wise, here especially, this dog has a lot of time to find with most runners, but nearly five-to-six lengths to find with us. One of the outsiders this evening, not for me.

T5 won well last week when getting a dream run at the bend when the field came together. I don't think they will get that same luxury in tonight's race and won't have the same initial pace we have.

T6 will edge left as drawn this evening as this runner likes to run a middle course. Could come together with T5 in the early stages. Has recently been on his travels to Sheffield and Nottingham and has fared well with some eye catching times but I feel is drawn too far out this evening.

So to us in T4, we should have enough space to be able to ping and make the bend tonight. If we go round in front we should just pull further and further clear. Quietly fancied for the entire competition so I would be disappointed if we aren't able to win this opening heat. The races will get harder the further we get in the competition. But tonight's race sets up perfectly for us and I make us my max bet.
