This afternoon, I make this a match race between us and T1. We recently competed in the staying 712m race final on Derby Finals night, finishing a never-nearer fourth. We do bring some exceptional form to this race compared to the rest of the runners, and I can see us being too strong throughout.
How I see this staying race being run: T1 is our main danger following her win last time out. Still, that was a clear run and was over half a second slower than what we achieved in our 712m contest. Things going for this runner are the draw on the inside, and the fact that this one may get first run on us. Even so, we can still be strong enough to pick this one up.
T2 surprised a few on Derby Finals night when nearly holding off both Alright Patricia and Ballymac Taylor over the marathon 925m trip, ran well for a long way there, but I doubt has the early pace to lead this race this afternoon, but if turning prominent, could surprise a few.
T3 one quick line of dome over this trip, but overall times don't compare to the rest of the field, will struggle as drawn to clear the inside two runners, so not for me.
T5 big prices both tries over this trip and was up against it on both occasions, stood a couple of strong runners until the run-in on the first occasion, and could lead this race for a couple of bends, though I do see us being stronger.
T6 outclassed and outgraded this afternoon and will go off at a massive price, I can't see this one being involved at all.
So back to us in T4, not the greatest of draws I'm not going to lie, would've been a lot shorter had we been drawn on the rails but we have the class and track craft to overcome this draw and I do see us overall being too strong for this field and too quick in the later stages, so a confident choice.

A recent runner-up in the sprint competitor on Derby Finals night, prior to his runner-up spot, had been smashing the lids and recording some quick times in the process over the course and distance. Today is an easier race, and I do expect us to add another win to our tally.
How I see the race being run: T1 first run since March, so will probably need the outing. He has had a few trials at Yarmouth the last couple of weeks, noting to suggest that he can be competitive in this, best watched for now.
T2 is a consistent sort and ran fifth behind us in that recent sprint competition final, so he is no mug and could represent our greatest challenge this afternoon, as with a clear run, he is another who always breaks the 16-second barrier for this 270m trip.
T3, another that has been off since March, has had a couple of spins round here the last few weeks to blow any cobwebs off, prior to layoff, I would've. Said this runner would be a massive danger, but you don't know 100% how a spell on the sideline affects runners. Personally, today I would be a watcher rather than a backer of this one.
T4 bad draw for this runner who really wants a pitch closer to the rails, form OK, nothing spectacular, and will struggle to gain a clear run, and if gaining that clear run, I still don't think he will be quick enough to land a blow.
T6 first run back here for a couple of weeks, having been to Hove for their open race sprints, no real show in those, and back here is going to struggle to lay up with this field as drawn, so not for me.
So, to us in T5, form and class-wise wise we are head and shoulders above these; all we need to do is come away, with this being the track we hold all our best form for. I see a dominant display from the outset and a really impressive run. Bet of the day for me.
