Greyhounds tips with trap2line

Our resident Greyhounds tipster, Trap2Line, went one-for-two in his Friday preview, seeing Swift Serena falter in Nottingham but landing a winner in Romford thanks to Avongate Venus.

He returns with his Saturday Greyhounds Tips, hoping to go one better.

19:08 Romford - Teaboy Brownie (T6) @ SP

Solid local over both two and four bends, won last week, and has an even better opportunity to follow up this evening with probably one of the best draws and race makeups of the entire day/night.

How I see this sprint race being run: T1 faces an uphill task against the best sprinters in the country at Towcester recently, performing well and making the final, but didn't break the 16 second barrier in any of his races which I feel is the benchmark for a quick runner to record a sub-16 second run over the 270m trip. Does have Romford form and a good draw this evening, but I feel we will get a better run on the outside.

T2 knocked out in the first round of the silver salver last week and returns home for this contest tonight. He did win at the start of May over this course and distance and will need a return to that form to figure tonight, not for me as drawn.

T3 again an early casualty of the silver salver, this runner will be turning left out the traps and making a beeline for the rails, room is going to be to tight as T4 will also be looking to get across too, I feel there will be a lot of crowding on the inside and that can leave the way clear for the outside runners to take advantage.

T4 horrible draw for a tight railer and will be turning left as soon as the traps rise, and be boring to the rails heading into the first bend, this will hamper his chances, and also the other inside runners.

T5 normally a four-bend middle runner so again will edge slightly in on the run up giving us some space on the outside to pace up, I can't see this one getting involved as doesn't show that much early pace over the four-bend trip and you have to trap well over this 225m to not be involved in crowding at the bend.

So to our selection in T6, ticks all the boxes for tonight's race, great draw, good form, lots of early pace, great race make up explained above. All I see is quick into stride, pace up, clear the field at 1st bend, and going on to win well. Bet of day for me.

21:48 Romford - Alright Gordy (T6) @ SP

Very good eight-bend performer over a variety of tracks, comes here on the back of a tame effort on derby final night, other than that, very solid form and looks to be a bit above these with a clear run.

How I see this one-off marathon going: T1 came over here after a six-bend Limerick win, but since arriving at Romford has raced in a couple of 575m races and has yet to really get involved, will this step up in trip suit? I'm unsure; nothing in both races to date suggests this, so it's a pass from me.

T2 is, to me, our main danger as the further this runner has been going the better he is getting, produced a very eye catching run at Central Park recently over the 664m trip and does also have some good 575m form here, will have to come from the back I just feel we have a better draw on the outside.

T3 very poor grader over the 400m trip and no-show in any of her three tries at the 575m trip, I feel this one will go off at a massive price, and I can't see this runner getting involved.

T4 sent off odds on in two of her last three 750m races, winning two and coming second in the other recorded some good times in the process. I just feel this race is harder, and there are strong runners with better all-round form.

T5 lowered the colours of T4 last week when getting off the front, doing that this evening can draw us out of T6 and help us to be more prominent than usual. T5 has good form against similar rivals to us in T6, but I think we can collar this one before the seventh bend.

So finally to us in T6, we show no early pace and have to do things the hard way in races but this race could be run to suit, even though we aren't the only wide seed the other wide seed can set the race up for us to come through late and win this going away. Confident choice.
