Greyhound Tips - Monday, May 26
T1 (Carrick Fergie) 19:27 Nottingham @ SP
We come back on to the track after a small lay off, came here last week for a sprint trial and performed really well, recording a sub-18 second run on our first look. Should no doubt come on for that, and have a dream draw on the rails to boss this race from the off.
We came over here from Ireland with a big reputation so should take this tonight before going on to better things.
How I see tonight's race being run - T2, a very solid local, and rates our main danger. Key to our race will be leading this runner, we have a sprinter's early pace so I see us doing just that. However - if we don't, I can see this runner being very dangerous.
T3 is another that wins her fair share here and does have good early. The inside three runners all have good early so the break will be key. T4 has a poor draw for a crack railer and will be literally turning left as the traps open, and can ruin his and the chances of others by doing that, so it's not for me.
T5 has a good draw and will get a solo middle-to-wide, times though aren't as quick as some in this and will be found out in the early pace department and will struggle to get competitive.
So, back to us. Everything is in place for a good run, I can only see us trapping well, pacing up, clearing the field at the bend, kicking clear and winning by multiple lengths. Max bet for me.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
T5 (Tromora Gold) 20:26 Pelaw @ SP
Final of the dual distance competition this evening, and even though we have a terrible draw being this far out from the fence we have exceptional early to be able to cheat the draw, and could still go round in front.
We are in the lap of the gods if we don't break but we are consistent in that department, and of the four-bend form on offer we are the quickest.
How I see this race being run - T1 has the draw on the fence but last time over this four-bend trip didn't stay and we have nearly a second advantage on this one alone.
T2 is an Oxford raider, to me the overall danger to us if getting away in his best fashion. I do see lots of crowding on the inside but of this one gets clear it could give us something to think about.
T3 has been very consistent over the years and will always give his running over a variety of trips; but it's not for me tonight. T4 has a few quick times against lesser lights, will struggle as drawn, and I've put a line through this runner.
T6 has a peach of a draw but again won't stay; may lead, but I can see us turning on the shoulder or just in behind and picking this one up by the third bend.
It will all depend on the break and the initial 100m, but we are strong in both departments and I see us landing this two-round competition. Strong selection.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
