Monday Greyhounds Tips: Three to start the week

Recent Irish purchase having his fourth run on these shores. Looked desperate in latest defeat when nearly knocked into the car park on the initial bend, similar field tonight and winner of last weeks race, Trap 2 is in tonight’s race.

How I see tonight’s race going: Again like last week, we are going to get a good tow into the race by Trap 2, we need to navigate the first bend better and the make up of the race looks like we will, our pace second to third bend is a joy to watch and granted a clear run we should win this before going on to better things and winning a open race or two on our travels.

20:01 Nottingham - T6 (Avongate Venus) @ SP

Grade Open race 500m

Returns to the track tonight after a lay off since really bad trouble at Perry Barr. She has had two trials back, one over a sprint trip at Towcester and the other over course and distance. I watched the trial and there was a stumble at the traps resulting in a poor spilt time, normally a ping breaker so you can forgive her that and she will improve on the 30.10 she recorded from a plot draw.

All I can see in tonight's race is ping, early pace, wins race by many lengths being the sole wide seed. Confident selection.

21:11 Nottingham - T2 (Barntick Bear) @ SP

Grade open race 500m

Last, but not least is the Towcester track record holder, who comes here in fine form after a couple of trial stakes victories. Notts is known for early pace but the long bends and galloping track serve us well also.

This looks a pretty deep race with lots of early pace and that is key, we can sit in behind the leaders and come through strongly off the last to win this going away. I would be concerned if Trap 4 went ping, but I can’t see that happening and Trap 1 will punch a hole for us to follow round and pick that up off the last.
