Lucky 15 Tips: Stage clear for Nicholls Old Roan Star

It's National Hunt action all the way on Sunday with four cards taking place on a busy day across the UK and Ireland.
Aintree returns for a new season on a card that includes the Old Roan Chase, while they also go jumping at Galway, Wexford and Wincanton and we've put together a Lucky 15 selection for Sunday's racing action.
Lucky 15 Betting Tips - Sunday, October 27
13:30 Galway – Search For Glory @ 9/4
The first of two days of action from Galway over what is a Bank Holiday weekend in Ireland comes up on Sunday afternoon.
The Irish Stallion Farms EBF Beginners Chase features representatives from the top stables and Gordon Elliott's SEARCH FOR GLORY can land the prize in the Gigginstown silks.
He was a maiden hurdle winner at Ballybrit during this season-ending meeting a year ago and went on to land Grade 3 prizes at Cork and Clonmel, both over 3m on testing ground, before a midfield finish in the Albert Bartlett at Cheltenham as stablemate Stellar Story won.
A winner of his only start in points, it would be a shock if he cannot better a hurdles rating of 143 over fences and can make his mark at the first attempt in this discipline, as he did in points, bumpers and hurdles.

13:50 Aintree – Stage Star @ 11/8
The Paul Nicholls-trained STAGE STAR was a Grade 1-winning novice chaser at the Cheltenham Festival in March 2023 and his reappearance last season saw him winning a major handicap chase at the November Meeting in the Cotswolds.
He flopped back at Cheltenham on New Year's Day in very testing conditions and then finished off his season running fifth in the Ryanair back at the Festival.
It is far too soon to consider writing him off and his record on returning from a break of 200 days or more shows three wins in three attempts. Ahoy Senor is no longer a reliable conveyance and this should be a good chance for the Ditcheat trainer to win a record fourth Old Roan Chase.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
14:42 Wincanton – Glynn @ 11/8
GLYNN will be stepping out in the Veterans' Handicap Chase at Wincanton over 2m4f for Anthony Honeyball despite this representing just his eighth run over the larger obstacles.
He has won three on the spin now and is really motoring in this sphere. Wins at Newton Abbot over 2m5f flanked a wide margin Stratford success over 2m6½f in August/September.
He was lumping weight to a younger horse in Lallygag last time out but held him off comfortably in a novice event and this mark of 137 looks to be within range back amongst his own peer group.

15:00 Aintree – Sunray Shadow @ SP
Dan and Harry Skelton have been banging in winners all week and SUNRAY SHADOW can be one to ensure they aren't left off the Sunday service.
This five-year-old won a Warwick bumper in May on his Rules bow and was fancied to make a winning start over timber at the same venue earlier this month.
He was given a patient ride by Harry Skelton and while he closed up to be beaten just a half-length at the line, he didn't quite have the gears to go by the pair that finished ahead, both ridden prominently, as the trio pulled clear.
It was a good effort nonetheless and he should have learned plenty from it. The step up to 2m4f looks sure to suit him now in this maiden hurdle.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
As a guide, a £0.25p each-way Lucky 15 on today's selections, at the prices, and assuming all four won, would return around £231 for your total £7.50 stake.
