Lucky 15 Tips: Four tips to follow on Monday

There’s a good chance we will get several meetings worth of action on Monday, which is a rare treat in recent days.
Lingfield, Punchestown, Exeter and Wolverhampton are all on the schedule and that means we have plenty to look forward to.
We've picked out four of our strongest selections across the day that could be well worth considering for a Lucky 15.
Lucky 15 Tips - Monday, January 15
13:38 Exeter - Alcedo @ 2/1
Venetia Williams specialises in staying handicap chasers and as such, Alcedo is likely to improve significantly for the switch to fences here. Also his first start in handicap company, a mark of 121 looks very workable.
The form of his three-length success in a maiden hurdle here last term looks rock-solid, as the second has since gone on to win the Gerry Fielden. He followed up that performance with a narrow second under a penalty at Leicester and there should be loads more to come.

14:38 Exeter - Illico De Cotte @ 6/4
Dan Skelton is thriving this season and he clearly has lots of good horses to go to war with. He runs Illico De Cote and the seven-year-old is well set for a return to winning ways here.
The son of Kitkou could manage only third at Carlisle last time out but there’s an argument to be made that this race is a little weaker.
Having won on his chase debut over 3m2f at the same track on his reappearance before that, one would imagine further progress could be on the cards.
This horse remains lightly raced and therefore potentially unexposed in handicaps, and connections will be hoping that the six-figure purchase can progress beyond his current mark.

15:08 Exeter - Mr Grey Sky @ 7/2
There’s a shortlist of two likely candidates in this race and Kim Bailey & Mat Nicholls’ runner Mr Grey Sky gets the nod. His jumping let him down in a major way at Ludlow on his seasonal bow and the 11-year-old is much better than that performance indicates.
Connections would have been delighted that the handicapper has subsequently decided to drop him 3lb and he’s now particularly well treated on the evidence of his best form from last season.
Winning twice, off marks of 115 and 120 last term, he’s entitled to be very competitive here as long as his jumping holds up this time around.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
19:00 Wolverhampton - Havana Sky @ 7/2
Look out for Ed Dunlop’s runner here, as Havana Sky has been in a winning mood for the last couple of months and there could well be more to come.
Completing a five-timer with a good win over course and distance on his penultimate start, 6f is clearly his trip for now and the return to the distance is a massive positive.
Connections tried going back up to 7f last time out and although he wasn’t beaten very far back in fourth, his finishing effort did suffer over the longer trip.
This horse is a very strong finisher over 6f and further success could be on the agenda. The handicapper is likely going to catch up with him before too long but he looks capable of winning one or two more before that happens.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
