Colombia look to have a relatively kind pathway to the quarter-finals having topped their group, but Ghana have proven to be a stubborn obstacle already at this World Cup - as England found out when they drew 0-0.

These two meet in Kansas City (8.30pm Friday local, 02:30 BST Saturday, ITV1/STV), and below you can find my Colombia vs Ghana Predictions

Colombia vs Ghana Betting Tips

  • Colombia to win to nil @ 11/10

Team News

Colombia are sure to reinstate Daniel Munoz into their starting XI after he was rested against Portugal for the majority of the 90 minutes. He’s scored twice so far at this World Cup and is a huge threat from right back, while Jhon Cordoba may keep his spot up front ahead of the disappointing Luis Suarez.

James Rodriguez and Luis Diaz should create plenty of chances for Nestor Lorenzo’s side.

Ghana boss Carlos Quieroz should stick with his preferred front three of Kamaldeen Sulemana, Jordan Ayew and Antoine Semenyo, even though the Man City man has a slight ankle issue and his side haven’t looked sparkling going forward in North Amercia.

Brandon Thomas-Asante looks like he will have to settle for a spot on the bench again, along with Leicester’s Abdul Fatawu.

Colombia vs Ghana Predicted Lineups

  • Colombia: Vargas; Munoz, Lucumi, Sanchez, Mojica; Puerta, Lerma, Arias; Rodriguez, Cordoba, Diaz
  • Ghana: Asare; Senaya, Adjetey, Luckassen, Mensah; Partey, Owusu, Sibo; Sulemana, Semenyo, Ayew

Colombia vs Ghana Odds

Colombia are 8/15 to win this game in 90 minutes with Ghana out as the 6/1 outsiders. A draw after 90 minutes is 11/4, over 2.5 goals is 6/5 and BTTS is 11/8.

Colombia vs Ghana Stats

  • Colombia topped their group and are unbeaten at this World Cup
  • Daniel Munoz has scored two goals in two starts

Colombia to win to nil @ 11/10

I’m really confident about Colombia’s chances, not just in this game but in the World Cup. They showed they can dominate Portugal in their final group game, and they topped that group to earn themselves a last-32 tie against Ghana.

The fans wil play a big part in Kansas City, but this side plays with such intensity that I think they can overwhelm Ghana. We expect Queiroz to go defensive again, but the likes of Luis Diaz should be able to unpick this defence.

Ghana have only scored twice at this World Cup, and with Semenyo off colour, I think they will find it tough against Colombia. The favourites to win to nil is my first selection.

Daniel Munoz to score (Sub Switch) @ 6/1

Munoz was rested in the final group game against Portugal, but he bagged two goals in the first two matches of this World Cup, and still represents remarkable value in the goalscorer market.

Betfred’s Sub Switch offer now also includes extra time if this goes the distance and I can’t believe Munoz is 6/1 to score. He doesn't play as a usual right-back, but instead is Colombia’s main attacking threat down the right side. He is so high at all times, that he is bound to get chances, and I think he will be one of the key attackers against Ghana’s low block.

I would also consider Luis Diaz in this market but he is just 6/4, so we’ve gone big in search of value by backing the Crystal Palace man.

Betfred's Sub Switch offer rolls your bet to the oncoming substitute, so you stay in the game, even when your player doesn’t.

Colombia vs Ghana Score Prediction

  • Colombia 2-0 Ghana

Colombia are the stronger team here on paper and should have too much quality for Ghana. The Ghanaians have proved themselves to be a tough nut to crack at this World Cup, but I think the favourites will progress in 90 minutes, with Daniel Munoz getting on the scoresheet.
