Match Result (90 mins) - Spain

Spain started their World Cup campaign off poorly, drawing 0-0 with first-time entrants Cape Verde, but they hit back with a 4-0 thrashing of Saudi Arabia and secured top spot in Group H with a 1-0 victory over Uruguay.

La Roja are yet to concede at the finals, with their three opponents only managing a combined 14 shots (four on target).

Austria beat Jordan 3-1 in their opening game of Group J but subsequently lost 2-0 to Argentina and drew 3-3 with Algeria.

Spain's superior quality should come to the fore on Thursday and allow them to win in regulation time.

Player 2+ Fouls Won - Lamine Yamal (ESP)

Lamine Yamal was an injury doubt heading into this tournament and was only introduced as a 71st-minute substitute in Spain's opening game against Cape Verde before earning his first start against Saudi Arabia.

The 18-year-old started again in their group finale against Uruguay, winning one foul before being replaced in the 76th minute by Nico Williams, who was also upended once.

Yamal averaged 1.9 and 2.9 fouls won per game, respectively, in the 2025/26 La Liga and UEFA Champions League, highlighting the lengths his opponents have to go to in order to stop him.

Austria recorded 13 fouls in each of their first two group games and are likely to pay Yamal close attention here.

Spain vs Austria Odds

Player to Be Carded (Sub Switch) - Konrad Laimer (AUT)

Bayern Munich's Konrad Laimer could be tasked with man-marking the teenager.

Laimer has started in three different positions already at this World Cup, beginning at No. 10 against Jordan, at left back against Argentina, and right back against Algeria.

The 29-year-old could be deployed at left back again on Thursday, making him a prime candidate in the Player to Be Carded market.

I successfully tipped Laimer to be booked in my Argentina vs Austria Bet Builder Tips and I'm going back to the well in Inglewood for a player who was issued 14 yellows in the 2025/26 season for Bayern Munich and was sent off in his country's 1-0 friendly victory over Tunisia on 1 June.

Betred's Sub Switch rolls your bet to the oncoming substitute, so you stay in the game, even when your player doesn’t.

Player 2+ Shots (Sub Switch) - Marcel Sabitzer (AUT)

I don't think Austria will get many clear-cut opportunities, so they may be forced to try their luck from range, and Marcel Sabitzer is someone who isn't afraid to pull the trigger, with five of his six shots at the finals coming from outside the 18-yard area.

That includes the Borussia Dortmund midfielder's goal against Algeria in Austria's final group game, which was actually the first match in which he failed to record at least two shots (two vs Jordan, three vs Argentina).
