We’ve got a crucial game at both ends of the Championship table coming our way on Tuesday night as Portsmouth host Ipswich (20:00 BST).

Having won the East Anglian derby, Ipswich are in pole position to finish second, while Portsmouth’s late winner at Boro kept them out of the bottom three. Below you can find Portsmouth vs Ipswich predictions featuring team news and more.

Team News

Portsmouth will be without their Riverside hero Conor Chaplin on Tuesday as he can’t play against his parent club. Adrian Segecic could start in his place, while Ebou Adams is set to miss his fourth consecutive match.

With a big game against Leicester on the horizon, John Mousinho will want to avoid any key injuries. Gustavo Caballero and Keshi Anderson may start out wide although Millenic Alli provides an alternative option.

Conor Ogilvie will serve the second match of a three-game ban, with Jordan Williams set to continue at left-back.

Ipswich boss Kieran McKenna does tend to rotate for these midweek matches, with pantomime villain from the weekend Marcelino Nunez set to come into the XI. Wes Burns is set to miss out again with his calf issue,

Dan Neil, Kasey McAteer and Jack Clarke are all pushing to get back into the line-up after a derby day win.

Today's Football Fixtures

Ipswich to win @ 10/11

This weekend felt pretty seismic for Ipswich Town in the promotion race. Not only did they land an impressive maximum at the home of their fiercest rivals Norwich, but they saw Millwall draw at West Brom, and then Boro lose at home to Portsmouth.

That leaves the Tractor Boys in a strong position to go back up. They are now two points clear of the Lions and three points clear of Boro, with two games in hand on the pair of them - including this one on Tuesday night. They have won three out of their last four, plus you have to take into account Portsmouth’s long trip back from Middlesbrough at the weekend.

Although they will be buoyed by that later winner, they did a lot of running, and I think they may have their eye on a seismic upcoming weekend clash vs Leicester. Ipswich should take the three points.

I also really like the look of this Price Boost that Betfred are offering. I’ve covered Ipswich to win, but I can also see them having the most corners if they are as dominant as we expect them to be.

Ipswich have averaged 5.65 corners per 90 this season, while Portsmouth have had 76 yellows and two reds this term and could find themselves without the ball for long periods of time on Tuesday. A decent price at 5/1 for me.
