Leicester City were relegated to League 1 for the first time in 17 years on Tuesday, but the Foxes still have two Championship games left to play. They welcome promotion-chasing Millwall to the King Power Stadium on Friday (20:00 BST, Sky Sports Football), with the Lions still in the race for automatic promotion.

Read on for my Leicester vs Millwall predictions, supported by the latest team news and match odds.

Team News

Leicester remain without injured trio Ben Nelson, Caleb Okoli and Victor Kristiansen, leaving their options limited defensively.

Championship Young Player of the Season Jordan James was replaced by Harry Winks early in the second half against Hull City last time out. It remains to be seen if James was taken off because of a fresh issue or if it was to manage his minutes following a recent lay-off.

Football Odds

Alfie Doughty, Joe Bryan and Billy Mitchell are set to miss out for Millwall again due to injury.

Derek Mazou-Sacko was okay to start in Tuesday's 3-1 victory at Stoke City, and he may retain his place in the engine room next to Casper De Norre.

Leicester vs Millwall Predicted Lineups

  • Leicester: Stolarczyk; Pereira, Lascelles, Vestergaard, Thomas; Skipp, James, Fatawu, Mukasa, Monga; Ayew
  • Millwall: Patterson; Crama, Taylor, Cooper, Sturge; Mazou-Sacko, De Norre, Azeez, Neghli, Ballo; Coburn

Leicester vs Millwall Odds

Leicester are a 16/5 bet to snap their seven-game losing streak in the Championship.

Four of their matches during this run have been draws, with the stalemate here valued at 11/4.

Millwall are the 4/5 favourites and they are gunning for back-to-back victories on the road.

Josh Coburn has bagged nine league goals for the Lions and he is the favourite at 8/5 to strike anytime on Friday.

 Leicester vs Millwall Stats

Today's Football Fixtures

Match Result & Total Goals Over/Under 1.5 - Millwall & Over @ 23/20

The atmosphere was tense in the King Power on Tuesday. The Leicester players were booed on to the pitch and Winks had to deal with the Foxes' faithful every time he touched the ball.

With relegation confirmed, there might be an even smaller Leicester crowd than there was against Hull, which can play right into Millwall's hands. Alex Neil's side have given themselves their best chance of taking the second automatic promotion spot and they can't afford to falter against a side as bruised as the Foxes.

Southampton, the form side in the division, were held to a draw at home in midweek, but it is Ipswich Town that Millwall truly need to worry about as they have a game in hand.

Millwall can hold on to the fact that Southampton and Ipswich meet next week on the South Coast, so that clash could have a huge impact on the race for second. Millwall can only focus on themselves for now and they have a free hit against Leicester, who no longer have anything to fight for.

The Lions can go fox hunting on Friday night and I am confident that the visitors will leave the East Midlands with three points. I've added Over 1.5 Goals to the selection because it has struck in six of Millwall's past seven outings in the second tier.

Both Teams To Score - No @ 1/1

Millwall have recorded two clean sheets across their previous three fixtures in the league, and they also defeated Leicester 1-0 in October's reverse fixture at The Den. So I am a little surprised to see BTTS - No priced at 1/1 on Friday - and I would like to highlight this to punters.

Before Tuesday's 2-2 draw with Hull, Leicester had blanked in defeats against Portsmouth and Swansea City. They showed fight against the Tigers, something they had been lacking all term, but it was too little too late.

I doubt there will be many Leicester supporters in attendance, but those who do go aren't exactly rooting for the players right now. Those on the pitch aren't going to have a great deal of motivation for this game so I can't see them scoring.
