Coventry City are only four points away from confirming their return to the Premier League, but given their immense goal difference, three points against Sheffield Wednesday (12:30 BST, Sky Sports+), should be enough.

It’s set to be a party atmosphere at the CBS Arena on Saturday, and below you can find my Coventry vs Sheffield Wednesday predictions.

Coventry vs Sheffield Wednesday Betting Tips

  • Coventry to win to nil @ 4/5
  • Jack Rudoni to score and assist @ 11/2

Team News

Coventry could welcome Bobby Thomas and Brandon Thomas-Asante back to the squad for this game, while Jack Rudoni could make his first start on his return to fitness. Liam Kitching and Joel Latibeaudiere will hope to keep their places at centre-back, with Frank Onyeka and captain Matt Grimes providing the protection in midfield.

Frank Lampard will have to choose between Haji Wright and Ellis Simms up front, with Ephron Mason-Clark and Tatsuhiro Sakamoto set to feature in the wide positions.

Sheffield Wednesday boss Henrik Pedersen has confirmed that Liam Palmer will be fit after limping out of the Leicester game. Max Lowe was only supposed to play an hour against the Foxes but played the full game, and he is fit to feature in defence again.

Nathaniel Chalobah could start again after playing 60 minutes for the first time since August 2024. However, Di'Shon Bernard, Gui Siqueira and Ernie Weaver are all out for the season, while forward George Brown came back for the U21s on Tuesday but is still some weeks off a senior return.

Today's Football Fixtures

Coventry to win to nil @ 4/5

The odds on a Coventry win are as short as you would expect, but there may be some value in backing the hosts to win to nil. Sheffield Wednesday have managed to put in several competitive performances recently, drawing 1-1 with Leicester City and Watford in their last five outings.

However, the Sky Blues have the title in their sights and should be able to put in a dominant display at the CBS Arena. The reverse fixture ended in a 5-0 away win and with a sell-out crowd ready to cheer the Sky Blues towards the Premier League, I would expect a home win to nil at a reasonable price.

Jack Rudoni to score and assist @ 11/2

Rudoni is Coventry’s best player, but he hasn’t been able to show that too often this season despite the club sitting top of the table. Injuries have held him back but in recent weeks we have started to see just how good he can be.

He came off the bench to score twice against Derby County in a 3-2 win and now has five goals in his last five appearances, despite the last two coming from the bench. I think he should start this one in the number 10 role, and up against this weak Sheffield Wednesday outfit, I think he can bag a goal and assist.
