Union Saint-Gilloise vs Atalanta Prediction: La Dea to land final blow on USG

It's all or nothing for Union Saint-Gilloise on Wednesday night (20:00 GMT, Discovery+) as only a victory over Atalanta at Lotto Park will offer the Belgian side a chance of snagging a play-off place in the Uefa Champions League. Their opponents, meanwhile, have already confirmed a top-24 place, but as one of eight clubs on 13 points after seven rounds of league-phase fixtures, La Dea could still secure a top-eight spot and, with that, automatic entry to the last 16.
Below are my Union Saint-Gilloise vs Atalanta predictions, complete with all the latest team news and match odds.

Union Saint-Gilloise vs Atalanta Odds

Union Saint-Gilloise vs Atalanta Stats
- ATA have won their last two UCL away games
- USG have lost all three home matches
- Zalewski (ATA) has provided four assists in his last 11 apps
Match Result - Atalanta @ 23/20
Atalanta suffered a 4-0 defeat at Paris Saint-Germain in the first round of league-phase fixtures, but La Dea responded brilliantly to go unbeaten in their next five, four of which they won, with their run only coming to an end last Wednesday at home to Athletic Club (2-3).
Still, the Serie A side haven't been beaten on their European travels since that hammering in Paris on September 17, winning their last two at Olympique Marseille (0-1) and Eintracht Frankfurt (0-3) without conceding a goal.
USG, meanwhile, have lost five of their seven games in the league phase, including all three at home to Newcastle United, Inter Milan (both 0-4) and Marseille (2-3).
Only a victory will do for the Belgians on Wednesday, and Atalanta, fresh from a big league victory over Parma, will fancy their chances of picking off the home side at Lotto Park.

Player Assists A Goal - Nicola Zalewski (ATA) Yes @ 11/2
Atalanta's Nicola Zalewski has provided five assists since joining from Inter Milan last summer, four of which have come in his last 11 appearances.
The 24-year-old, who primarily plays down the left-hand side as a wing-back or winger, registered his first Champions League assist last week, setting up Gianluca Scamacca's 16th-minute opener against Athletic Club.
Should the Pole play at wing-back on Wednesday, he's likely to have an array of attacking talent in front of him, with Scamacca, Ademola Lookman and Charles De Ketelaera potentially starting as the front three, so he will have no shortage of options to pick out.
