Arsenal vs Real Madrid Bet Builder Tips: Mbappe to score in 11/2 shot

Arsenal welcome the reigning Uefa Champions League holders Real Madrid to the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday (20:00, Prime Video) as they contest the first leg of their quarter-final tie. The Gunners have been strong at home in this competition and this looks to be their best bet to secure some success this season as they are 11 points behind Liverpool in the Premier League title race.

Madrid head to London off the back on a last-gasp defeat at home to Valencia in La Liga, while they required penalties to get past rivals Atletico Madrid in the round of 16 in the UCL. Check out my Arsenal vs Real Madrid bet builder tips below, which pays out at an enticing 11/2.

Arsenal vs Real Madrid Bet Builder Tips

  • Over 2.5 goals

Both teams to score

To give ourselves a better chance of a win with this Bet Builder, I have refrained from choosing a result or even a double chance market because this feels like a tough game to call.

This is Real Madrid's domain of course, as they have won this competition a record 15 times. Year-on-year we are expecting Los Blancos to make it to at least the semi-finals but this season we have already seen signs of weakness from the Spanish giants.

They suffered defeats against Lille, AC Milan and Liverpool, while they avoided an upset against Atletico in the previous round thanks to a penalty shoot-out.

Arsenal have also been very strong at home and are yet to lose a European game at the Emirates this term. They have tended to deliver their best performances on this stage, and despite injury worries, they can pose a threat to Madrid in north London.

Football Odds

Both teams to score looks like a sensible pick for Tuesday because both clubs have a variety of players capable of delivering the goods in front of goal. BTTS may have only struck in one of Arsenal's five home games to date in Europe, but that did come in their latest appearance against PSV Eindhoven.

It has also been a winning selection in a further three of the Gunners' European clashes away from home. There have been goals at both ends in two of Real Madrid's away trips in the UCL this campaign but seven of their previous eight contests in all competitions coming into Tuesday have ended with both sides getting onto the scoresheet.

Over 2.5 goals

Seeing as I believe that both teams will score here, I think it's also fair to predict that we will see at least three goals in this fixture. Each of Arsenal's past six appearances in Europe have produced over 2.5 goals, with half of them coming at the Emirates.

Additionally, three of Real Madrid's last four away trips in the Champions League have yielded three goals or more, including their trip to Manchester City in the play-off round in February.

Arsenal vs Real Madrid Stats

  • Arsenal are unbeaten at home (five games) in the UCL this season
  • Kylian Mbappe (RMA) has seven goals in the Champions League in 2024/25

Arsenal vs Real Madrid Odds

Kylian Mbappe to score anytime

Sticking with the theme of goals, I'm going for Kylian Mbappe to score on Tuesday. The Real Madrid attacker has been brilliant throughout the season, scoring 32 goals across all competitions.

The French international has bagged seven in the Champions League this term. He was not on the scoresheet across the two legs against Atletico last month, so it feels like he is due back on the scoresheet in Europe.

He heads to Arsenal in good form, having netted five goals in his previous seven appearances across all competitions. Arsenal may have only conceded two goals at home in the UCL this campaign, but they have recently lost a key figure of their back line, Gabriel Magalhaes, to injury.

The Brazilian is not going to feature again until 2025/26, and I can see this playing into Mbappe's hands.

Lucas Vazquez and Jurrien Timber 1+ fouls each

This Bet Builder is rounded off with a couple of fouls, and I have selected a member of each team to get penalised.

I think veteran Lucas Vazquez is a smart pick up for Madrid as he's 33 years of age, and he will have the likely task of tracking speedy Arsenal winger Gabriel Martinelli, which I think is just asking for trouble over the course of 90 minutes. The Spaniard has been cautioned eight times in Europe in 2024/25, and I think there is value to be had in covering him here.

For similar reasoning, I have gone for Arsenal's Jurrien Timber, who will have the daunting task of keeping Vinicius Jr. quiet. The Dutchman has also committed eight fouls in the Champions League already this season, and I think his tally will rise on Tuesday night.
